I really like this quote, I think it's so true! Most of the time, people shop for houses, furniture or even clothes just to impress others or keep up with the Joneses when in reality they don't really care about the Joneses or the other people who they are somehow trying to impress. It seems to me that it is an insecurity issue and the need for validation from complete strangers.
