The progress is slow, but with multiple spell users working together and comparing notes, the group comes up with a phrase in Draconic, which translates to "The heart of the Greenlands"

Cratol finds a place to secure his rope, and starts spelunking. Soon enough, he finds himself swaying slightly over a wide and dark body of water. It looks deep. There is dry land down here, with more of the bioluminescent fungus lighting it, but he's going to have to swim to reach it.
[You know Paul, Geoffroy just might take offense at being overlooked as a cleric. ]
Sar'ai clasps her pendant and reaches out touching the script etched into the stone with her other hand, allowing it to following every intricate outline of the symbols. The wizards pupils disappear in orbs of pale violet that seem to glow dimly. As the half-drow continues to trace her fingers over the inscription, she whispers arcane words throughout the ritual.
Out of Character: casting Comprehend Languages as a ritual. Takes 10 minutes and lasts an hour.

After floundering for a bit, Cratol pulls his way to the shore. The water is cold and murky.
The cavern continues on ahead of him. To the monk's right, he can see a pair of bobbing lights moving around the lake's edge.

Sar'ai spends a fair bit of time while the others discuss the markings casting her ritual. When done, the added insight further clarifies what they've worked out already. It will most definitely shape the stone when activated, and the command phrase when uttered should both open and shut the passage.
The ritual also reveals the meaning of the phrase worked out by the others (As prematurely mentioned before).
The lights disappear as Cratol approaches, and he is unable to find anything that would appear to be the source. They both reappear after he wanders away.
The monk finds two exits from the cavern he is currently in. One large natural tunnel, and a hole that looks like an animal burrow, only large enough for a man to walk through, and made through solid stone.
Near the water's edge, he finds some manner of totem mostly composed of the jawbones of some large predatory fish. (Rel or History check to know more.).
