Cratol picks his way down the small tunnel. The walls seem to be coated in some manner of slime, though it is quite dry to the touch. A foul stench of rot grows stronger as he proceeds.
It bends, and the monk can see a large wormlike figure ahead. It does not appear to be moving, and on closer inspection, appears to be dead and decaying.
It is curled up in a hollow at the end of the tunnel, and there's a pile of bones and detritus nearby.
The thing has a tubular body, at one end has a beak surrounded by a quartet of flexible hooked appendages.
Cratol does not see any wounds or other obvious causes of death.
It is tough to be sure without knowing what the creature is, especially at this stage of decomposition, but the creature appears to be quite thin, and none of the remains in here appear as… fresh as the creature itself. It is possible the thing starved to death.
The detritus includes a fair number of technically usable items. But they're generally in the category of crude bone tools. The one item that appears worth taking is a good sized figurine carved from onyx. The subject is a rather disturbing tentacled… thing, but there is a fair amount skill and beauty in the image.

He will take the figurine with him. If he can fit it in his back pack he will. Seeing nothing else of use he will see about using the crude tools to take the beak off the worm and see if anyone can tell him what it may have been. Once he is done he heads back to the rope and climbs up.
It is rather messy work, but the beak comes off easily enough. Both figurine and beak go in the monk's pack, and then it is back into the water.
As he is climbing up the rope, he can see Geoffroy and Nyzahr looking down at him, along with an unfamiliar halfling.
As he gets to the top he looks at his companions. He looks at the new comer. "Did you see the spiders?" He starts to wrap his rope back up and store it on the side of his pack. He starts walking back towards the spiders and then the way that Lia went.
