Fay looks at the big man, "We may have problems" he thinks to himself. "Nay Poljen, the threat lies to our front. It is from there the enemy will appear. You have two good sets of eyes with Targul and Cratol. But if the task be too much fer ye, I will take it and you may herd the sheep back to the pasture with me Lady Mother." He looks at Lia, "Please help Poljen get all to safety Amillë."
Velon finds that those he spoke to in the warehouse are indeed among those gathering up.
Out of Character: Poljen, if by the dwarf you mean Velon, the new guy is human in spite of the forum avatar.
Velon, after Poljen and Targul take one each, I don't think anyone in the group is going to claim the longsword or the splint mail. Velon, Targul, and Lia are the only ones with heavy armor proficiency, and Lia is going for one of the breastplates instead.

After rummaging around for a moment she spies a set of breastplate armor on a man about her size. She tries it on but almost can't breathe in it. She thinks " I will take this. Maybe a smith can adjust this for me. " Hearing Fay she responds. " I'm okay Ionneg. Save your spells. There are others that might need it worse. "
She frowns as Fay and Poljen debate about who will bring up the rear. " Come, Poljen. I will help you back here with stragglers. Let us start now before more enemy arrives. We aren't ready for another battle right now. " She will lug the breastplate to the fortress.

Out of combat: Sweet, thanks everyone.
Velon grabs a longsword and the splint, leaving his old war hammer and chain behind as it would only slow him down.
He briefly introduces himself to Poljen and the others around him as they're grabbing weapons. On the way to the fort he tracks down the tinker, yellow haired man, and others from his warehouse. He claps them on the back and thanks them for their assistance.
Cratol will be at the front of the freed prisoners leading them to the cave entry. He will say the magic words to open the cave and then start ushering in the freed people. He will tell them they will be safe with the other townsfolk in here. If need be he will lead them inside to where the others are resting peacefully.
Onwen turns back upon hearing Fay's words to him. He fixes the man with a cold gaze but says nothing and then suddenly smiles, a smile that some might find discomforting, a fake smile to cover up the malice. Onwen watched Fay going through the mage's belonging and notes the spell book, but again he says nothing only fixes his cold gaze onto the bard and watches him intently as he moves about. Once the group is gathered and on their way back to the fort Fay would likely feel Onwen's eyes on him. He would find that the wizard is rarely more than fifteen or twenty paces away from him, always watching, though this would make it easy for Fay to keep an eye on Onwen, but Onwen is obviously keeping his eye on Fay.
He does take his eyes off Fay when Nyzahr approaches him, and when she does he gives her a look of slight confusion at first. Hearing her words in his mind his jaw clenches briefly "I am not much of a teacher" he says simply "You would do better to find an academy where you could learn such things."
Onwen studies the bronze piece for a moment "Looks to be in the Draconic language maybe; which alas I do not know… given enough time I could cast ritual spells that would allow me to interpret these runes and detect any magic they may hold, but obviously we do not have that time right now."
The mage hands the bronze item back to Nyzahr "I will need time to rest and recover from my wounds, but if we do ever manage to find any spare time bring this back to me and I will see what I can do."
Lia notices that Poljen does check behind them as they walk, but she can also see there is something on his mind. He finally says, "Let me carry that for you," indicating the piece of armor. Whether or not she does he then says, "Lia, I want to say something to you. And you know that I am not the best when it comes to words, so please here me out."
After another glance back to make sure they are clear of enemies he says, "I am glad for you, that you have found your son. He seems to brave, and clever. I like him. But… he is not a member of the Blaze. Yet. You, Cratol, Targul, hell, even Onwen, can tell me what to do and I will listen intently. We have fought together many times. You are my comrades. I have respect and affection for all of you… though Onwen sometimes worries me. Not sure why… anyway, we have only met Fay today. Yes he has fought beside us, bravely too. But he has not earned the right to give orders. Now if he offers an idea, and it is a good one, we will most likely accept it. But he has a ways to go to truly be accepted as a member of the Blaze." He pauses, then adds, "I am confident he will get there. But you know I can be slow to warm to new people… unless they are pretty women, eh? If you wish for me to talk with him about this, I will. But I wanted to give you the chance to decide if he should hear it from me, or from you." He waits for her reaction.
