Poljen snorts. "I find it difficult to take seriously one who leads an army to attack a town for the purpose of kidnapping and pillaging when he tries to lecture me on being honorable. Regardless, I agree to your conditions. I never end a fight early. I fight until the enemy has fallen, or I have fallen." He pauses, then adds, "If you wish to earn any respect from me besides your obvious skill at arms, tell me why need living, healthy people for your cause. Or at least agree that should I defeat you, you will explain."
Cyanwrath smiles again at Lia, making a dismissive gesture, "I dislike purposeless execution, but this is neither an execution nor without purpose. Whatever skill with that bow you may have elf, you are clearly not a warrior. Like any blade, the warrior's dance must be honed, and partners worthy of me are few. I have sought a challenge since arriving, but it seems that I must force one to come to me. Now stand aside little one, lest the senseless bloodshed stain those nice clothes."
In response to Poljen's request, he says, "I am sworn not to reveal that, I cannot betray that oath regardless of the outcome here. The same goes for any information that might lead you to discovering the same on your own. I am feeling generous however, is there anything else you would wish as a prize in the event of your victory? My armor and blade perhaps?"
Poljen's smile begins to take on the feral cast that appears as the Battle Madness begins to well up in him. "I will take your armor, and that fancy magic blade, if you insist on wagering it. I having nothing comparable to offer however." He pauses, then grins like a school boy. "Save for this!" He tosses the torch stone so it hovers over his head for a few moments. "A bauble, that is all."
Fay moves forward and gently put his arm around Lia. "Amillë, This be Poljen's fight and be his alone. Woulds't thou come with me. ''Tis Time to let them have at it." Fay stop for a split second and looks a Cyanwrath, "If good Sir Poljen does not dispatch this day, there will come other day creature when we will meet. On that day you will feel more than my words, you will feel my steel. May your life be short and pain filled."

Onwen watches the exchange from the battlements, gripping his staff and staring out at the army with an emotionless expression. He studies Cyanwrath for a moment and then Poljen unsure which one is more likely to win the duel but trusts in Poljens abilities. His heart pounds in his chest despite Onwen's knowledge of the barbarians skill as he watches Poljen approach the enemy commander. He begins going through his list of options if things go south and Poljen falls.
Lia grits her teeth to not say something possibly dangerous to Cyanwrath. Feeling Fay's arm around her she nods at him. " Cyanwrath, you choose this death. I tried to talk Leninthon out of fighting also and he wouldn't. His head is now over the gate. " Looking to Poljen " Slay him Poljen. Apparently these blue dragons and kin are slow learners. I know that you will end him. " She leaves with Fay.
Cyanwrath stiffens at Lia's comment, but says nothing. He waves everyone off, clearing a space for him and the barbarian.
Poljen strikes first, but swings wide as Cyanwrath dodges before moving in, spinning and thrusting his spear with surprising speed. Both warriors prove more agile than their size suggest, with shield and scales making it difficult for undodged strikes to sink in.
The Barbarian is nevertheless swiftly forced on the defensive before the onslaught. He strikes back when openings present themselves, but after the first few exchanges, Cyanwrath remains untouched save for a gouge in his armor's pauldron, while Poljen is sporting a long bruise on his arm, and a shallow cut on his thigh.
[two strikes for 19 damage, reduced to 10.]

Poljen knows that spears are fast, but you can nullify them to a small degree if you can get inside the reach of the tip, so he moves in, swinging his blade in return…
