Fay laughs at Silas' joke, "I like ye Sir. Ye have a sense of humor after me own heart. Beholder eyes is it? I'll be sure to bring a large sack so they be good and fresh when back we come" Fay says with a huge grin on his face. "These amulets are a boon indeed, and thank thee for them, even if the greater forms of undead they help with not." He thinks for a moment, "One last question I have, is there an approach we should or could take that would offer less resistance or provide the greatest time ere we be discovered?"
Seeing Poppo fidget nervously about the undead and his eagerness to snatch up an amulet, Oswald leans towards him. "Don't worry little one, you have two clerics of Lathander and one of Sune here, the undead shouldn't be a problem."
He speaks up. "I'll take point. I can find a clear path and turn any undead that get too close to the group. I'll travel 60 to 120 paces ahead of the group, depending on conditions, and will check back at least every three hours. These points are negotiable if the group wishes to change them up."
"I will do my best to lead us to our destination unharmed; though if you lose contact with me, lose my trail, or find my body you should expect a tough fight. These are the terms I present my clients."

Velon takes an amulet as well.
"I will grant your wish Fay. With Bahamut's protection as well as Lia's, it is my duty to shield you all from the wrath of our enemies, after all. It is my purpose, in part."
"Silas, it is an honor to meet and serve you. My presence will not put the party at risk beyond a Behir, will it? Also, how should we navigate the swamp? Is the location of the castle well known? I am not familiar with the area.
Out of character: Funny that Fay said that, because I've been thinking they really should let Velon and Poljen wade in and soak up the attacks even more now that Lia has offered her protective wards to halve damage. Aside from Velon's occasional magically infused damage burst you will all outclass him offensively much of the time, so he might as well serve a purpose!
Fay looks at Velon with real concern in his face, "Twas but a joke man. None of us should be so far forward that support from the rest of us cannot come in an instant. Coming upon yer dead body because we could not make it to you in time I would enjoy not at all." He looks at Oswald, "I say this fer you too. If a team we be then a team we stay. Suren there should be a vanguard, but not so far forward as you would have it or that which you seek to warn us of may oerwhelm you and that be no help fer the group either."

"I am Geoffroy Charney, follower of Lathander," he says before offering with a smile as he looks to Oswald, "And I saw you at the temple while speaking with the High Priestess. I had a feeling that my attention being drawn towards you then was for a purpose." The Morningliege was intrigued of how it worked out and in how his God perhaps worked in mysterious ways.
He will also commend Lia softly of how lovely her attire as well Cratol's new title and family holdings, though eh may have already done so. Listening to what Silas had to say and the issue that he needed the help of the SIlver Blaze to resolve, Geoffroy felt this was something they could perhaps handle..
Looking to Fay and his reaction, Geoffroy had to admit that he shared the half elf's concern before chuckling at how quickly Fay said that he was in. Still, the Morningliege's reaction was more serious as it was explained all the threats they could face and he considers what they could do so as to prepare for such dangers.
Geoffroy takes an amulet as well, putting it on, before saying, "I am not sure of Oswald here, but undead might be a bit less worrisome even if we still try to avoid them. Lathander's light will be especially potent against them if we are forced to fight such." Still, there was some concerns he felt involving all this, he just wondered how to go over them.
Looking to Silas he asks, "What of someone learning of our mission and seeking to stop us on the way? The precautions you took for this meeting were impressive and creative, though as my communion with Lathander revealed there are spies and agents about we need to avoid." Geoffroy might be worrying too much though, as the disguised dragon seemed to have everything planned out well.

"Never worry about this one, Lord Baronsson, he has more lives that a bushy-tailed desert fox, he does… ", Jharen interjects jestfully with a movement of the chin towards Deepshadow. Seeing some surprise on Fay's face at the mention of his name, he adds: "Oh, of course I did some, shall we say, 'research' on the esteemed and famously glorious bunch of you. It is, after all, my prime source of income and professional specialization: gathering intelligence. So, in a sense, your fears are founded: I am, indeed, a spy. A very good one - mayhaps the best, if I may humbly add - and more to the point in this particular instance I shall be YOUR spy. Why, you ask ? Well, let's see… because I was contacted by the Harpers to do a job, which I intend to fulfill at the best of my abilities. So, there again you were absolutely spot on the money: you will have no other choice that to trust us. That would be your very best course of action in this instance… " at that, he bows exaggeratedly towards Mari and blows her a small kiss before throwing Oswald a meaningful look:
"Nevertheless, I am of the opinion than the mere details of strategy and battle order should be discussed in due time between us all. Just remember that we both are professionals and thus quite used to take risks - furthermore we do get paid reasonably well for it, if I may be so bold as to mention." Jharen grows more somber… "And as far as fighting undead, in my experience this remains the best way to triumph over all manners of foul and smelly things: avoid them at all costs whenever possible !"
As if to illustrate his point, the rogue in turn quickly grabs an amulet from the table and wraps it around his neck with a flourish.

Oswald responds to Fay. "You are right. I traditionally work with younger groups or escort missions; where the danger was less and the scout is needed farther out. This is a mission where you keep your scouts close. I will follow that."
He nods appreciatively towards Geoffroy and Amber Jack, then picks up an amulet and slips it into his bag of holding.

"As to the approach… " Silas pulls out a map showing the region north of Waterdeep. Several marks have been scribbled onto the Mere area "This shows most of the known stationary threats. The Brothers' lair is to the south, I would avoid that region entirely. Jad will be leaving the skiffs here, along the eastern edge of the swamp. As I see it, there are two general paths you could take from that point. The route that avoids the threats that can be avoided takes you northwest, west, then south. It might be the safest, it might not be, I cannot say for certain." Silas quickly sketches out the path with a bit of charcoal. "The other route takes you straight through the territory of a Bullywug tribe, but it is by a notable degree the shortest path, and Bullywugs are far from the most dangerous thing you could encounter. If you push hard and don't get delayed too much by the frogmen, you'd only spend one night in the swamp before reaching the castle that way, and believe me, you want to minimize time spent camping out there."
Silas pulls out another map, this one showing a warren of tunnels. "In regards to avoiding the spies, there are a few ways, but the most direct is to act like the mission I've been hinting at is the real one. This map shows paths through the undermountain." He points to two spots on the map that have been clearly marked. "This marks the well in the tavern outside, and this is a not well known exit to the north of town. I have had the route scouted multiple times before your arrival, it appears to be clear. We go down the well, exit through this door, then part ways to do our respective parts."
"Velon, your presence in the swamps should not be a problem. The brothers' wards are not sensitive enough to detect you, and Behir are rare enough that I highly doubt you will encounter one. I simply wished to mention the possibility."
