Geoffroy will try to avoid the dark tentacles, trying to continue whis attack using the scorching rays of Lathander's light. He will need to apologize later for how the daylight spell brought pain to Oswald.
Specific Action: If he passes the Dexterity check, continue with previous rolls for the spell Scorching Ray.

As light fills the room, Oswald is surprised by the blinding light of his goggles. He finishes his spell, eyes almost closed from squinting, before attempting to remove the goggles. His free hand reaches up to them, but they refuse to budge.
The sound of battle is intermixed with a single name spoken as a curse. "Steeve!" Can be heard, echoing briefly in the hall. In anger and frustration Oswald pulls his hood over his face and turns his back on the battle.
He calls upon Lathander to maintain his spell, knowing it will aid the group in battle more than he can at the moment, and then lifts his eyes towards the dark hallway before him. He has mere moments for his eyes to readjust before he sees the tentacles attack. He tries to dodge their movements and then focuses on finding their source.
Out of Character: Dexterity save to avoid the tentacles. If they knock me prone I'll use my move action to restand before attempting to track the source.
Depending on the required check; I'm spending my action to roll a Perception to spot the source, or Investigation to track the source, or Religion/Arcana to identify the source. Whichever is most appropriate.

Velon has just broken free of the goo when tendrils start grasping at his legs. He growls again in frustration, trying to shift his stance to avoid them while still holding the line. If he isn't taken down by the tendrils, he'll make a green flame blade attack against the next enemy, green flame erupting from his sword and hopefully jumping to the next dwarf entering the room as well. If he can keep his wits, he'll also try to look beyond the doorway for a potential dwarf caster.
Out of Character: Signs, well an unnatural 1 is definitely a bad roll. Geoffroy will very much be captured by the black tentacles. Though, despite his -1 Dexterity modifier, perhaps it is a 2 because of Bless?

As the tentacles rose from the floor, Poppo had no time to be pleased with his well placed Firebolt.
"Gah!" he shouted as he tried to escape from the tentacles so he could continue to assist the party.
If he is captured by the tentacles he will try to escape next turn if possible. If he manages to avoid tentacles, he will cast Grease into the area beyond where the party's line of defence starts.
Edit: Just some word corrections for flow *smile*.

Final Round
Lia blasts again with her wand, felling several outside the door. Fay manages to bring one down covered by electrical burns. Silas meanwhile makes a gesture and the recently summoned tentacles disappear.
Velon and Poljen tag team the next giant through the door, bringing him down, but not before Velon takes a nasty hit from his oversized axe.
It is Cratol's turn to create an opening, as he staggers a dwarf enough for Jack's bolt to strike through a chink in the armor and into the chest cavity.
The next giant slips as Poppo casts grease, falling in front of the door. Geoffroy scorches him with a ray.
The dwarves stop advancing, and someone just around the corner shouts out in thickly accented common, "Damn ye, whoever you are, may the elves take ye!" Arcane words are spoken, and stone sprouts from the ground, rapidly growing up to seal off the door. You can faintly hear bootsteps and dragging noises beyond the newly formed wall, mostly heading away.
Silas taps the stone with the tip of his sword to check that it is not an illusion. He quietly says, "Hmm, I can get us past this, but they may be lying in wait somewhere beyond, and they're much better at ambushes than assaulting a position. We could also plot another route around, there certainly are enough interconnected paths down here, but that would add time, and it may or may not be even more dangerous. I will leave the choice up to you."
Out of Character: They're stubborn buggers, but they're not suicidal, and you had a good meat grinder going. Velon would have taken 32 damage were it not for the shield other spell. Instead, he and Lia take 16 each.
