Poljen is walking in front, holding the bow of the skiff behind him with both arms when a flash of movement catches his eye. Seeing something green appear to burst from the foliage, he lets go of the skiff and steps to one side while ducking under whatever it is. As he draws his sword and readies his shield, he realizes that it was not something bursting from the foliage, it was the actual foliage itself! "I have never much cared for salads, and this gives me more reason! Ha! I will shred this living salad! Watch for others!" he calls out as he begins to engage the local flora.
Out of Character: : Bonus to Rage, Initiative, Reckless Attacks… and remembering to use the electricity damage. I will also throw in a Dexterity roll, just in case it is needed.
Out of Character: : Is that Mr. Roper?
In Character: : Having tried to help carry one of the skiffs and dangling from the middle for a few seconds, Poppo decided to walk alongside the group and keep an eye out for trouble. He was caught looking the other way when the vine-grabby thing attack Poljen and then moved in to take on the party.
Calm in the face of the threat, Poppo instead concentrated on his spells and then in quick succession launched two of his trusty firebolts to in attempt to fell the creature.
Out of Character: : Poppo will use Fire Bolt each round not wanting to waste spells if possible. Should the situation become more dire, he'll do something else.
As the skiff begins to fall without Poljen's aid, Oswald angles it so that it lands on its side. He ducks behind it for cover, as he unleashes burning hands upon the 'creature?'
Out of Character: Burning Hands cast at 2nd lv and avoiding other players.

Considering the situation, Zarra realizes what she can do and says, "The magic I possess can allow my daggers to strike true, I just need a moment." With such, bringing the spell to her mind, she points at the creature to gain insight on its defenses and learn where her blades need to go. One that is done, she will attack when given the chance.
Specific Action: I will have her use the spell True Strike, and then Sneak Attack the creature because of having advantage. She will also use Uncanny Dodge to less any damage if hit by whatever they are attacking.
Out of Character: Also, what penalty is there if I wanted to have Zarra use a dagger in each hand?

Round One
Cratol lands a few blows and Poljen cuts into one of the thicker vines. Your foe twinges a bit as Lia casts her spell. Zarra sinks her dagger into the mound, and Poppo strikes it with a bolt of fire as Oswald's fan of flames course over it. Two crossbow bolts and another bolt of fire sail by.
The creature shambles forward, and seems to flow around Poljen, engulfing the man in a mass of vines, rotting vegetation, and a few bones. Source 7m
Out of Character: Poljen is restrained, blinded, and unable to breath (That last won't be a problem for several minutes given his high con score), he needs to make a Con save each round to avoid taking bludgeoning damage. A tough athletics check can get him back out. Note: the creature is large enough to hit with AOE effects without striking Poljen.
Despite all the noise from the fight, and animals of the swamp being startled by flames and such, the group can distinctly make out noises from Poljen that are easily distinguished as curses. The large man thrashes and struggles against the monstrosity that has engulfed him.
