Poljen signals for everyone to stop moving and move to cover, behind a tree or a fallen log or what have you. He whispers, "I have no doubt we could send them fleeing, but we don't want to draw any attention to our presence, if possible. Let them go for now. Fight if we must, but only if we must."
Fay sees the group in front stop and he immediately goes on guard. He looks at those in the skiff with him, "Ware" is all he says in a low whisper. Then he sees the bullywugs and realizes what they are doing. He continues in a whisper, "We let them pass. Good. No need to fight when we need not. There'll be time enough to fight later."

Lia grows apprehensive as darkness is beginning to fall. She calls ahead to the first boat, " This is too dangerous to traverse at night. We should find a bit of dry land and stand double guard tonight. There are things too fearful to imagine that would see us as mere snacks tonight. Call out if you see something suitable. Everyone, please keep a sharp lookout. We might not find anything before dark. We must be ready if we are attacked. "
