Fay moves close to Jack. "Let's go up top and have a look see," he whispers. "'Tis that or we face the elves or the monster. Mayaps we can slip behind them from above. What kind of burgler are ye, afeared of a little height." He hopes Jack can hear the joke in his voice.
Poljen glances up the ladder, relieved that for the moment he can not see anyone, so presumably neither can they. Though with a bit of movement they might spot one or both of the downed guards. He calls out, keeping his face towards the one shot by Oswald, "This fool slipped on the ladder and knocked himself senseless. I'll get him back to the barracks." He then drags the body clear of the ladder area, hoping against hope his ruse works. He also gestures for Mari to try pulling the one he killed back as well.
Out of Character: : Okay, so Deception is not Poljen's forte. But I will roll twice hoping that he gets Advantage from Velon 'whispering in his ear.'
Velon grins at Poljen's ruse, thinking "Well done" to himself. His eyes grow wide as if to express urgency to the rest of the group as he raises a hand and waves two fingers forward down the hallway to indicate that they should move. No point in waiting around to engage in follow up questions from the enemy, he figures.
Out of Character: Eager to see Poljen's roll on this one! Big difference between them leaving us alone or rolling a 1 and having them sound the alarm!
The group hurries along, though no alarm goes up right away, perhaps the ruse worked?
They encounter no further resistance in the passage. At the southwestern corner of the walls is a narrow staircase going up and down, and an iron bound door. Snapjaw indicates that the gatehouse is behind the door.
Zarra will follow along, allowing Lia and the rest to take the lead while she stays in the back. The drow was feeling on edge, her paranoia leading her to think that after getting past the golem everything seemed too easy. She will even ask very softly, "Where is everyone? All in all, there hasn't been very many cultists or guards."

Poljen, upon hearing that the door leads to the gatehouse, grins. He says softly, "Be right back!" He pads back down the corridor and grabs the body he had shifted once more and slings the corpse over his shoulder. Once back he holds it up by the armpits in front of the door, then gestures at the others. "If it's open, open it. If locked, knock." Once the door opens, he intends for whomever is in there to see one of their own, only to be rudely slammed as Poljen shoves the body into the nearest guard…
Velon whispers to Poppo as Poljen moves past, body held up in the large man's hands like a rag doll. "You and Goliath have any tricks to get past this door if they don't open it?"
------
Following Poljen's lead and seeing that the barbarian's hands are full, the paladin slowly pushes past the others up to the door. He steps to the side a bit and kneels down some to avoid being directly seen if the enemy opens the viewing slot in the door. He tests the door handle to see if it will open. If so, he'll whip it open and charge in. (He will not contest Poljen if he charges aggressively and will go second in that case.) . If it is locked, he will knock.
If knocking, the Paladin will prepare himself for a poor reaction from the guards inside. He likes Poljen's plan, but they may notice that the man knocking is not exactly conscious. If it goes south he will quickly jump up and put his gauntlet inside the viewing hole to hold it open. He only needs a second to see anywhere in the room and then will Misty Step through the door, ideally staying close to it. If he can get in he will try to absorb any any all attacks and use his action to remove the bar from the door to let Poljen and the others in.
