Velon uses his message spell a few times to say a few words to Zarra. "Considering the situation, I figured we need all of the help we can get. It may not be a choice I'd normally make, especially with your knowledge of the Mask. Although I was attempting to speak for the group, I can't stop you from keeping an eye on them for us. ... Wait… how do I wink via spell? Damn!" .
Lorairies grows a little serious hearing that." I am Lorairies Pegason, servant of Mask. He would not approve of what this black dragon is trying to do. I will aid in this. Remember, I represent Mask who cares for the poor and downtrodden. I have the power to heal or kill in his name. There is no need to worry about me stealing from the group. I find it the height of folly to steal from friends. Besides, just because the god I serve is the god of thieves doesn't mean I'm an actual thief myself." She laughs and looks at them with an innocent face." Count me in." She sheathes her sword and lowers her shield.
Lia smiles at Cratol." Thank you for this. It will help immensely." She looks at them sadly." I hate to leave you now but I will return once Fay and Jack are well." She looks down for a moment, lost in thought." Zarra, I'm sorry that I wasn't more trusting with you before. I was taught to hate your kind. I have something for you." She removes her magic longbow from her back and extends it to her." Take my bow. With my new one I no longer need this. May your arrows always fly true."
Out of Character: : Thomas, don't forget that she gets the bracers of archery as well. This bow is +1 and can cast hunter's Mark once per short rest. You can't transfer it to another target like the normal spell. After a short rest you can cast it on another target.

Cratol looks towards Lorairies and says, "I am glad that you will not steal from friends that is very noble of you. The fact that we have just met you I am not sure we would be considered friends as of yet. I do not rush to friendship and I believe you may not either. How about if that statement is reworded to you do not steal from travel companions unless they are proven to be traitorous to our cause?"
She sniffs at Cratol's words." Apparently, you think that I'm a thief. That really hurts." She pauses then laughs." Very clever. I am impressed that you caught that. You don't look that clever." She winks." Okay fine. I won't steal from travel companions. I am fine with only stealing from traitorous companions or others not of the group. Mask must have his tithe from somewhere. . "

Poppo had remained quiet while the others discussed what to do about Jack and Fay as well as the proposed unification with the newcomers. When Lawrance asked him about the portal, he burst into chatter, "A fellow wizard, huh? That's great. I just came across a new spell book. Maybe we could share when we get a chance. Where did you study? I had a mentor but he's dead. Undead creatures killed him. I think some weird dark horse rider ordered him dead. Didn't kill me though. Oh, the portal? Right, sorry got a little side-tracked. We found another of these portals in the swamp north of here I think. The woman with the dragon mask, Remzir, had it smashed but I used oatmeal glue to put it back together. I wasn't sure if Aunt Penelope's recipe would hold but it did. Felt a little sick though going through it. The two portals seemed to have the same markings and need magical energy to make them work. Say, have you ever eaten purple worm? I've got some hunks of one we killed. I am trying to come up with a good recipe but no takers so far."
The group heads back to Lawrance's camp easily enough after he is done with his initial look at the circle. He can decipher little of its workings at present.
As it is discussed where Lia, Fay, Jack, and Mari will go, a nearby town to the northeast is mentioned. The way down is not too onerous if taken slowly, though it will require several days of travel at a slow pace.
Unfortunately, once talk of a dragon cult and the end of the known world starts cropping up, both of the grunts Lawrance had hired make it clear they're not going to follow him into that mess. They like being alive to collect their pay too much.

She will focus on Lia, when the wood draws her attention to speak with her. On the priestess' words, Zarra will take the bow and though quiet for a moment with say softly, "I wish we could have travelled longer together, yet your words are appreciated as is the gift." There was surprising emotion in the drow's words, though she will try to hide it by clearing her throat.
As they travel, Zarra will consider the situation quietly, her hand brushing the bow. Yet she will still listen to the conversations going on, even noting how Lorairies tried to be a bit deceptive in her wording that she would steal from the group.
The drow does laugh softly as it seemed the floodgates opened when Lawrance asked Poppo about the portal. Zarra will look to the halfling and says in an amused tone, "Slow down a bit, or you might overwhelm him with your chatter."
