A rune glows inside the box, and Goliath is jolted as his attempt to retreat to the aether is abruptly interrupted. He can hear a voice outside, "Tsk tsk little mage. I have named you mine, this small piece of your soul is not going anywhere. Come swiftly, and without the need for further reminders, and you may learn that obedience has its rewards."

Velon grimaces at being informed that Tazskan is not up the stairs. "Damn! Amabal, go down these stairs here and check the same door one floor below on the left. Be stealthy above it! Turn back if anyone is in the halls."
The paladin secretly worries that Tazskan's room could have an alarm set, or other such trouble could be triggered.
Out of Character: . Really trying to help get Tazskan in the action but fear for any number of consequences for the party.

Amabalis reports that the connection is indeed getting sronger as he descends. Poking his head around the corner at the bottom, the familiar spots a guard sitting outside of the room he'd been asked to investigate. Said guard is busy fondling his master's greatsword.

"Damn! Amabal, watch for more guards. Distract him when I arrive."
Velon looks at Poljen for a moment, "Keep them all safe, would you?" He winks.
Velon descends the stairs as fast as he can, placing his shield halfway down the stairs and dropping his amulet against his skin. He rounds the corner, sword drawn. Plater armor, red beard and all rushing the man in perfect silence as fast as he can, he messages Amabal, "NOW!" He raises his sword in two hands above his head and does his best to cut the man right in half where he is sitting.
Out of Character: . Risky and probably stupid, but what the heck. The man isn't in the best position. Adding some smite here to end it quickly. Regular melee strike in silence, can't cast a cantrip. This is for you, Tazskan!

The Quiet Shadow says... Using her magic, Zarra will disguise herself is one of the guards previously met and dispatched. Though notably, one that had spoken so that she could try mimicking his voice while disguised. The sudden change in plan to add Poppo as a prisoner with Lora did put the drow on edge.
