As Cratol begins to cause quite a bit of calamity, Sar'ai begins to move quickly to loose herself from her bindings.
Out of Character: would these guys have been smart enough or had enough time to locate or even know Sar'ai's amethyst embedded pendant was her spell focus? I assume they removed her daggers and hand crossbow.

The mage doesn't look up, but says, "Don't hurt her, that blood of hers should do very nicely, I want her on one of the first wagons out of here, and keep the man alive for now, with him around we don't need to grab someone off the street for the sacrifice."
The other man turns and replies, "Of course master, but he doesn't need fingers for that."
With the other's attention elsewhere, Cratol sends him flying off with two vicious kicks. He doesn't quite make it to where the mage is, but falls over, yelling curses and clutching his nethers. Sar'ai immediately begins wiggling out of her bonds.
Cratol manages to get a grip on the knife and slice the rope behind him. His hands are still bound, but he can stand. Shortly afterwards, Sar'ai wriggles free, and yanks the gag out of her mouth.
The mage stands and casts another spell in Sar'ai's direction. Once again, she feels her limbs deadening, but this time she is able to resist the effect. He growls a threat at his companion, who finally stands once more and turns your way.
It is in this moment that Sar'ai can feel her familiar once more. She is just outside, and brought help.
Out of Character: It took two turns for both of you to get free, fortunately the man failed his strength save to avoid getting decked (I gave him a penalty due to the previous strike), so they were taken thoroughly by surprise. Sar'ai still has her spell focus. They stripped her of gear, and probably would have recognized it for what it was, especially if the mage had done the search, but that too was rushed.

Elanna leads Geoffroy, Elyria, Lia and Onwen to what appears to be a boarded up shop in the trade district. The owl doesn't seem any less frantic now that she's arrived. There are a fair number of people about, they're talking about the firework, and how it seemed to come from somewhere around here. They can faintly hear yelling from within the building.

Targul was thinking the same thing as Poljen. On the sea, he often saw pirates using similar signals to coordinate attacks. Although on ships, the signals were usually magical in nature. It would have been too easy for some careless sailor to set their own ship on fire or one of their allies by accidentally dropping a torch or launching a lit ball of pitch in the wrong direction.
As Poljen and Cahleth spur on their horses, Targul is right behind them, hurrying back to town to see if there were any villains in need of a sharp axe.
Sar'ai stands and grins, "Always check for a focus, fool!" As she then lifts a hand in the direction of the mage and muttering some arcane words, three spectral darts shoot forth toward the mage.
Then feeling Elanna near, the half-drow bolts toward the front door of the building, all the while mentally directing her familiar to fly once again into the door with a thud.
Out of Character: last spell slot for magic missile. Then Sar'ai will bonus action dash for the front door.

Cratol knowing the guy is injured will keep pressing the attack as he covers Sar'ai attack. He hopes to keep the mage from completing his rune.
Out of Character: Attacking the injured fighter first if he drops him he will attack the mage.
Cratol strikes the fighter twice, with the second blow crushing the man's windpipe. He falls to the ground, blood dribbling from his mouth as he tries in vain to take a breath. He moves to engage the mage, but the man sidesteps the kick.
The mage's hand flashes up as Sar'ai casts her spell. The magic missiles stop dead as a barrier flicks up in between them.
For his part, the mage touches Cratol's chest. Electricity jolts through the monk's frame as darkness claims him once more. The mage utters an oath, and runs for the back door, apparently abandoning any attempt to recapture Sar'ai.
Geoffroy, Onwen, and Elyria are almost on the building when a rather disheveled half drow rushes out the front door.
For her part, Lia swung around the back, and was just in time to see a man in brown robes leap over a short fence and start running down the alley away from her. (About 50' away at the moment.).
Geoffroy to check on Sarai, making sure she is okay asking, "What has happened, what is going on? Please, tell me you are both okay. Do you need healing?" The cleric watches as the man in brown robes makes his escape.
It would appear they were to late to help in whatever had happened, but at least it appeared to Geoffroy that the half drow was alive and well enough, and he looks to Sarai before asking, "Where is Cratol?" He would prepare for whichever is needed, whether ir be healing or combat.

"Inside! Make haste!" Sar'ai exclaims upon running headlong into Geoffroy and the others, "Cratol will need tending to! Onwen, follow me!"
Sar'ai begins heading around the building the opposite way if the alley as Elanna takes to the sky once more and informs her master that the mage is attempting to escape.
"I didn't have time to retrieve my weapons, but together we should be able to stop him!"
The wizard then instructs Elanna to retrieve her hand-crossbow that was dropped in the alleyway and bring it to her. (It may be a few moments before she has her weapon back, so cantrips will have to suffice for now along with Onwen's magic and Lia bringing up the mage's flank)
As Sar'ai rounds the other corner she will extend her hand as a noxious gas flows from her palm in the mage's direction.
Out of Character: if Sar'ai can't quite make it around to get in range of her cantrip, disregard.
