[Moving this along a bit]
Geoffroy eventually finishes with his patient, and at Cratol's request, leads him into the alley outside. The monk finds an axe with the belongings found in the shop, and sets about breaking up the pattern of the runes on the floor before him by striking large gouges in the wood. Suddenly, there's a flash of light.
Outside of town, the spellcasters with the caravan feel the disturbance in the weave become much stronger for the pace of several seconds, then fade to nothingness.
Those outside the shop are about to address the militiamen's challenge when they see a bright white flash of light coming from the doors and cracks in the building. As spellcasters, they experience notable pain as the 'noise' they have been hearing builds to the point that they're hardly aware of anything else. This lasts for what seems an eternity before it fades once more. It is still there, but is much less perceptible, and 'sounds' different. Sar'ai recognizes it as the feel of the Faerzress that she was long accustomed to.
Cratol is briefly blinded by the flash, and feels strangely… buoyant. He is still blinking away the afterimage when his feet leave the floor. The monk and every unsecured object in the building, faerzress crystal included, slowly float to the ceiling, coming to rest there.
[ Out of Character: As experiments and your resident half drow can tell you, the unaltered Faerzress still makes Divination and teleportation spells iffy, but no longer impossible, and communication spells at least are now fair game. In addition, you find that without the circle, the crystal only radiates its effect out to a distance of around 100 paces. It is no longer capable of covering more than a small portion of the town.
Cratol and the other things in the tailor shop will continue to bob through the air like balloons for the next ten minutes unless you can figure out how to end the effect early. I suggest not letting go of the monk while outside.]

Cratol bounces on the ceiling looking about. "Well that did not go as planed", he mutters to himself. He will push off part of the ceiling to move the crystal away from circle more. He will try to get it as far away from the circle as possible. He will look at the circle to see if he succeeded in causing it to fail and stop functioning.
As light as it currently is, shifting the crystal to the other side of the shop is an… interesting process, but not particularly difficult.
Cratol may not know much about magic, but that circle certainly looks inactive. He gouged large gaps in previously unbroken lines, and the runes that had been faintly glowing are now dark.
Once he has the crystal in a safe place he will go over y the front door. He will keep hanging onto the axe he found as possible evidence against some one else who may be involved in all of this. He tries to think of what will help him be grounded once again. He will also flap his arms and kick his feet to see if he can fly around the room.
Lia covers her ears at the intense sound. She notices the blinding light coming from the building. The young elf remembers what Sar'ai said about Cratol. She runs towards the building in case he is in there. Yanking open the door she sees everything in the room floating around at ceiling height including Cratol.
Lia gapes at this. " Cratol, what did you do? Are you okay?" She thinks for a moment about using rope but knows it is back on her horse. Standing just outside the doorway she stretches her arms as high as she can inside the building. " Can you make your way here? I can grab your leg and try to pull you down. We need to dispel this somehow. I can't do it. Hopefully Onwen or Sar'ai can help you. "
Geoffroy carried the man of whose life he had saved, keeping his hands and arms firmly bound but the legs free for the moment to walk. He is careful of his throat, wanting to make sure not to cause more damage.
He sees the city militiaman asking what was going on and answers, "We had reason to believe the source of the suppression of the weave originated from here with a magic circle within." He would have said more, but there was the flash of light with an intense sound with a noticeable reaction from those who used arcane magic.
He sees Lia hurry over in concern, as he sees Cratol exit the building. He would ask, 'So were you able to take care of the issue?" Part of him wanted to simply try to destroy the crystal with his Morningstar if able, but the cleric would wait to take such action.
The half-drow clasps her ears and buckles briefly as the flash of light seems to cause the wizard great pain. After the effect dissipates, Sar'ai stands and echoes Geoffroy's statements of seeking out what was behind the magic interference, "As you can see, there are some, 'loose ends' my group and I trying to wrap up. Now, seeing as you appear to be of some rank within this town's military force, due to your badge, you may report back to Escobert that we have found the culprits behind the magic problem." She then looks down at the bound mage, "Though as I'm sure you saw the explosion in the air, we may have a greater threat heading here this very instant! So quickly, get back to your commander and inform everyone to begin readying themselves for a potential assault!"
Out of Character: Sar'ai was not attempting to hide anything she found on the mage, and frankly anything that would not have interested her she would have been just handing over to either Onwen or Lia, whoever took it first. These items would have included the magical portrait, the wand and the silver compass. (She would have held on to the pouch of coin and spellbook, explaining to anyone who may have questioned her, "The coin can be divided up later and this book needs the inspection of one trained in the arcane," before looking up at Onwen, smiling, "Don't worry, I'll share what I find.").
