“Thanks!” Penelope says to the elven singer. As Penelope gathers herself and steps onto the stage, she readies her mandolin. The instrument itself is composed of a beautiful myriad of colors of gold and brown. The pattern is reminiscent of the wings of a golden eagle.
Penelope turns and addresses the audience, “Good evening, guys and gals! Tonight I’ll be playing the opening act while our beautiful star gets ready for her beautiful ballad. I’m Penelope and I dedicate this song to a group of heroes out there who risk their lives for all of us everyday!”
“Ok, the show is on! I hope this gets their attention,” Perry thinks to himself.
Penelope begins to play an upbeat tune on her mandolin.
Lia was always such a beautiful girl -
I searched for her across half the world.
But she was too quick,
And had some Elvish tricks,
So I always ended in failure.
Lia was always such a dutiful girl -
She always helped her companions.
So I wrote this tune,
In the hopes that Sune,
Could lead me to her and find them.
She will likely try and say,
“Why chase a member of the Silver Blaze?”
Today she will show,
And I can finally say,
“You’re a healer and a hero,
And I hope you’ll stay.”
As the song picks up into the chorus, Penelope begins skipping and spinning across the stage, imitating the playful, trickster satyrs of the Feywild. She takes absolute ownership of it and explores the space effortlessly. A faint warmth forms around the stage as the seductive fey tones radiate from her mandolin.
She will likely try and say,
“Why chase a member of the Silver Blaze?”
Today she will show,
And I can finally say,
“You’re a healer and a hero,
And I hope you’ll stay.”
A little under two minutes later, the short song is over. Penelope turns to the audience and gives a bow, her left hand over her heart and her right holding her mandolin outstretched to the side. “Goodnight everyone, and spread the good word of Penelope and the heroes known as the Silver Blaze! Up next is the main star performing the Ballad of Lady Filauria! Give it up for her!”
Before exiting the stage, Penelope looks over to the well-dressed half-elf and gives him a look that implies, “How’d you like that?”
Out of Character: I'm going to use my Enthralling Performance feature here to try and get 4 people in the tavern, excluding elves, to become infatuated with me and to start spreading word of Penelope and the Silver Blaze to anyone they come across. I'd like for one of the people to be the bartender, since they talk to a lot of people. The others can be random. Also, I'm not sure how we are doing inspiration Daishain, but if I start with one then this is definitely the time I would spend it. I'll roll twice just in case, if I don't get one starting out we can just ignore the second roll.
Zarra will pip up and say, offering a soft smile to the girl, before saying on Mari's behalf, "Having perhaps only recently proved myself with my deed, I will offer that I am willing to give her chance as each of you did for me." The drow will look to each, her tone lacking hesitation.
Continuing, she will say, "She was a member of Zhentarim, a group who does not take well any who betray them. Mari will need all the support she can get now the decision has been made. As there is no going back for her, I suspect it wpuld be death." Zarra has admittedly heard more rumours herself, but keeping in mind her own kin the drow did not feel it her place to pass judgement.
Out of Character: Zarra will offer her acceptance and friendship, especially after everything she's been through. Mari has one at least willing to defend her.
Poljen finishes off his breakfast and water and says to Lia and Velon, "I agree to those terms." He turns to Mari, still scowling. "There is a chance that one day in the future I will again call you friend. Do not waste this chance we all give you this day. For you will not receive another."
Out of Character: : Dai, I am going to assume the guide and gryphons are returned intact and he gets his security deposit back, and only remove 200 gold from his purse. I am also going to add he has a single white dragon scale, to go along with his blue one. They probably are too large to fit on a thong around his neck without becoming annoying, so they will simply be among his things in his backpack.
Tazskan, finishes off his breakfast at the table.
He acknowledges the past comment's with a polite nod.
"I thank you all for your honesty here, as I'm one of the most recent to join your group," he says.
Looking at Velon, he speaks. "What ever we do, we each need to be vigilant here. To the point of backing, each other up."
"Although, what I would like to do is hopefully recruit some soldiers, to operate the ballista's. Then learn, how to use them myself."
"Unfortunately, not quite low profile, but we do need to bolster our defences," Tazskan adds, looking at Velon.
Out of Character: I have no idea, who the best person in town is to see about hiring soldiers?

With the matter of Mari settled, if not exactly to everyone's satisfaction, the castle returns to Citadel Adbar. You have a few hours left before the remaining ballista is delivered.
Meanwhile, Nikolaos definitely notices the subject matter of this stranger's song. He doesn't know Lia very well, but her name in connection to the blaze? This woman seems to know something. Whether it is mere rumor or something else would be the question.
Tazskan, freshens up and gets himself, armored. Ready to head off to Citadel Adbar on foot, again.
If they arrive, during the daylight hours, will start the hour and a half casual walk to the citadel.
Will ask if anyone wants to accompany him, and call upon his familiar. As before, Amabalis, acts as his guardian, and guide, looking out for threats.
Out of Character: Passive perception of 13.
"I will join you in seeking your ballista training, Tazskan, if you will visit the dwarven weapon maker with me, for security reasons as discussed. Perhaps you can help me persuade them into a good price even, eh? Oh, and also if you will join me at the Right of Inebriation in the evening, as well!"
"Would anyone else like to join us? Please do stay safe and in numbers if you decide to travel to the city. Let's have Esmerandia keep the castle safely off the ground once again, especially if none of us stay behind. Stay vigilant, my friends."
