"Sounds like a plan, Velon safety in numbers. Even with a short walk, it pays to be prepared. The right, of Inebriation sounds like the place to be tonight," Tazskan says.
"Don't we also need to hire six crew, to man the three light ballista's,?" He queries.
"I think it was two men per light ballista," Tazskan adds.
Lia nods at this." Safety in numbers indeed. I recommend that no one travel alone. Mari and I will go with you two, Velon." She glances at Mari who looks away.
Lia tires of wearing her armor so much. She freshens up and changes into a form hugging green gown that matches her eyes. Lia brushes her long raven hair out with 100 strokes. Turning in front of the mirror she smiles in satisfaction. She carries only a dagger strapped to each thigh under her gown. Lia will rely on Sune if anything goes wrong.
Mari wears her usual adventuring garb. Her shortbow and short swords are in their customary places.
Once they are dressed and the others are ready then Lia and Mari will descend from the castle. LIa passes her broom of flying to Mari who will stay aloft 50 feet or so as they travel to watch for ambushes. LIa will walk with Velon and Taz.
The group enters Citadel Adbar, and finds it unchanged. The same goes for the city below it.
On entering the "Rite of Inebriation", you find Nikolaos within. A young human woman is stepping off the stage to applause as she makes way for an elven one.
Nikolaos takes the stage with the elf performer as planned. To make sure the main act does not get upstaged he gives the musician a quick pep talk before going on stage.
Not knowing Penelope's motives he sets to corner her to have a discussion with her. But before doing so he makes use of the Sending Stone he gave to Poljen to relay a message.
"Performer Penelope at Rite of Inebriation searching for Blaze and Lia by name. Will confront to determine intentions."
Approaching Penelope Nikolaos says "That was an excellent performance and I thought that the choice of song was interesting. Tell me what you know about the Silver Blaze and how you heard about them? I run into a lot of notable people in my travels and I may be able to help you out."

Before leaving for the city, Lawrance gets the name and location of Cratol’s ballista supplier. Upon reaching the city, and after spending an hour or two at the Rite, he seeks out the Dwarven crafter. When there, he asks about advice for defences for castles and gets a cost for converting the giants longbow into a standard ballista.
Penelope responds to the well-dressed half-elf and says, “What a wonderful performance, dear! Fantastic, you are truly an artist with that lute.” She gives him a bow of respect. “I’m sorry we didn’t get to play together, I just had to play that song you see.”
“As for the Silver Blaze, to be honest, I’m their biggest fan!” She blushes a bit and continues, “I heard of their good deeds in the town of Greenest. It’s common knowledge in some circles you know. I’ve heard tales of Poljen, last of the Snow Leopards, Lia, the beauty of Sune, and young Cratol Stormcaller, baron of…somewhere!”
Her big brown eyes suddenly widen and glisten with excitement, “I just want to meet them and learn more about them! The world needs to hear about heroes! People want to be inspired by them! Storytelling is what captivates the hearts and minds of all throughout the lands. As a fellow musician and artist, you must agree, right? Please, if you know anything about them or there whereabouts, would you mind sharing with me?”
“Oh sorry, where are my manners, my name is Penelope. May I have yours?”.
At the sight of Lia Velon remarks "My don't you look nice". "You know you're supposed to HELP me remain vigilant against our enemies, not distract me! All the better though, perhaps you'd be willing to help me persuade the merchants once more?"
Whenever there is time during their little traveling groups's journey, Velon will go to the specialized dwarven weapon makers and ask to see the weapons with the Heavy property. With Lia's help he'll try to sweet talk to merchant not by playing hardball, but by flattering him or her to death regarding the magnificent properties of the weapons the likes of which he hasn't seen before. If only he wasn't just a bit of coin shy. He will select a warhammer with the Heavy property. He will then make his way to an enchanter and use similar tactics to obtain a +2 enchantment, thus effectively having replaced his mace with a similar weapon plus 'heavy'.
Out of Character: . Since the Dungeon Master has been generous with our ability to purchase items I'm going to skip ahead and assume I can complete this purchase as described. Will use the math I noted down in the Q&A, and -15% if the roll is really good. Will ask if the roll is poor or if I roll snake eyes to see how much more it will cost me *smile*
Out of Character: Taz I don't think we need to worry about the individual guard hires. We had agreed that Daishain was going to take care of all of that for us. I'll admit however that I forget how many works of various types we ended up hiring thus far. I've been wondering if a gryphon/wyvern trainer would be useful. We have a stable full of flying beasts!
