LIa laughs upon hearing Velon's comments. "I am helping you. Hopefully I will distract any enemies around. Thank you though for your compliment. I will be glad to assist you in shopping. That is something that I came dressed to do." She will help him to negotiate by attempting to distract the merchants from bargaining when possible.
Poljen is ignoring Velon and Lia's instruction to remain in groups, and wandering the citadel on his own briefly, when the stone Nikolaos gave him begins to warm and hum in his pouch. He pull sit out, and suddenly hears Niko's voice, telling him of someone singing of the Blaze. Initially he is a bit prideful, but then realizes the full extent of the message. Curious, he heads towards the Rite of Inebriation, and as he arrives sees some of the others entering ahead of him. He decides to draw attention away from the others, and give this interloper a point of focus, hoping she does not notice the others.
He stands in the door way and cries out, "A round of drinks for the house! Courtesy of Poljen, son of Nels!" He makes his way towards the bar to pay the several gold this will take. He fights the urge to look for Nikolaos and any other performers…
"I believe your in luck Penelope! Your snow leopard seems to be buying drinks for us this evening. Let's go try and meet him!"
"Excuse me but are you the Poljen the hero of greenest? Penelope here was just telling me all about your adventures and she would love to meet you."
“Wait, what, WHAT!?”
Penelope eagerly chases after the half-elf towards Poljen at the bar. She scans Poljen intently. He definitely looks like he fits the part just based on physique alone!
“Wow,” Penelope stands there for a moment with a starstruck expression on her face before continuing, “Are you really Poljen of the Snow Leopards, one of the Silver Blaze!?” She looks up at Poljen with eyes similar to a child who just met their hero.
“I just sang a song about you! Well, mainly about Lia, but it was really fun to perform! Are the others here? Can I meet them too? Are you all about to go on another adventure? Where have you all been the last several months?”
She seems overly excited and jubilant and seems to have seemingly completely forgotten about the well-dressed half-elf beside her.
Poljen's preferences are definitely well-remembered at the Rite, as his own drink is a pitcher of ale. He is just taking his first pull when Nikolaos appears, followed immediately by a pretty performer. He listens to both, keeping his face partially obscured by the pitcher, knowing he is not the best at hiding his emotions and feelings. He finaly lowers it to speak, and does so, loudly enough that everyone in the tavern, especially his comrades, can hear.
"Indeed, I am Poljen, the last of the Snow Leopards, and one of the Silver Blaze! Greetings to you both!" He turns to face the woman directly, hoping to keep her eyes on himself, so that Niko and the others can size her up properly. "You ask many questions, pretty one! Why do you seek to know about the Blaze? Do you need to hire us?"
Hearing the loud announcement by Poljen at the bar, Lawrance’s eyes narrow suspiciously, watching as he interacts with the barkeep. Sitting with the rest of the party, he says quietly “Somethings up. He’s pretending not to know Nikolaos.”
Reading their lips, he relays the conversation with his own commentary. “This overly pretty and fawning newcomer seems rather… emphatic in her attentions, doesn’t she? Nikolaos is suspicious of her, too, it seems.
“Oh, um, hire? No… no, not exactly. I’m not sure I could afford something like that,” she says seeming a bit embarrassed after realizing that she just bombarded Poljen with a flurry of questions only moments after meeting him.
“Truthfully, I’m a storyteller and a performer. I had heard of the Silver Blazes’ exploits and immediately fell in love. There was so much conflict and drama in the rumors! If the tales are to be believed, you all saved a town from nasty cultists who were planning on somehow creating half-dragons! Upon hearing this, I knew that I had to meet you and learn more about your adventures. The people of Faerun should know about the struggles you all face to keep them safe. Think about all the people you could inspire with these stories, people whose lives could be truly enriched!”
Penelope looks happy and inspired as she continues, “I want to write a book of poems and songs detailing different adventures and struggles of the Silver Blaze. And, um, I was going to ask if I could maybe tag along for the next adventure?” She laughs weakly, “I know it’s a big ask. In fact, I’m not really expecting this to work, but I can’t know until I try,” she looks sad as if she truly understands how unlikely this is to end well.
At this point, Penelope’s expression grows darker and more melancholy, “And, there’s… something else,” she says in a sad voice, trying her best to keep looking Poljen in the eyes. She begins to whisper, trying to avoid having anyone other than Poljen hear her, “I’m not exactly… human,” her expression now a bit fearful, “I can’t say much more in here with all of these eyes and ears watching and listening to us. Most people don’t take too well to my kind, but I want to be as upfront about this as possible and I will not lie to you. You all are far too important to me for me to lie. Is it okay if we go somewhere more private? Please? Others of the Silver Blaze can be there, I don’t expect you to go alone, but no one else please.”.
Seeing, that Velon had made his successful purchase already. Tazskan, asks if they would accompany him, to seek out the appropiate services of a ballista trainer, and or gryphon/wyvern handler.
