The intense noise coupled with the pain brings Onwen to his knees as he grits his teeth, drops his staff and brings both hands up to his head while letting out a painful moan. The sensation passes and Onwen kneels on the ground for a moment collecting himself before he picks his staff up and uses it to pull himself back to his feet shaking his head, and taking several deep breaths. "I did not care for that" he mutters as he looks over to the building where the light came from.
He brings his attention back to the mage and the things that Sarai took off of him "May I?" he asks Sarai holding out his hand to the small mini portrait and assuming she hands it over he studies the portrait carefully then flips it over displaying it to the fallen mage "Alive or dead I wonder?"
He pauses for a moment "Either way she must have some significance to you I imagine for you to be carrying her portrait around with you.A mistake in the grand scheme of things; I mean what would you do if say… an enemy of yours got a hold of it? As a mage I'm sure you can appreciate the arcane value that a likeness of someone can have. I mean, if she is alive she could be targeted right? If she's dead… well as you know summoners and necromancers could have a field day with this."
Onwen flips the image back around to study it some more "She's pretty; I think I'll hang on to this. You don't mind do you?" He doesn't wait for a response before he places the portrait into a pocket of his robe.
Looking back at the building he then looks to Sarai "I suppose one of us should check on that" he says.
Sar'ai takes the mage back to the old tailor shop. Upon entering the building she sees Lia reaching up trying to grab an apparently floating Cratol. She then notices the disrupted arcane circle around the crystal and quickly moving inside, the half-drow shuts the door. "Um, I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume this some side effect of messing with the crystal? That would make sense as to what that searing flash was as well… " The wizard looks up to Cratol with a scowl.
"Well, I suppose it could have been worse. But please, Cratol, next time leave the giant magically unstable crystals to those of us who may be more inclined to deal with such things, yes?"
Sar'ai leaves Lia to continue trying to retrieve the monk as she turns to the mage, "As for you, let's begin that discussion, shall we?" She leads the mage over to another area of the shop and forces the man to the ground against a wall. "First of all, I believe it only fair that you should know that your accomplice, Linn I believe his name was, did not heed my initial warnings about not answering my questions." The half-drow very obviously begins playing with the ring she recovered from Linn's belongings. "Let's hope for your case you are not as uncooperative." Sar'ai smiles ominously at the mage.
"Since I can only assume we have little time, I'll cut straight to the point of interest; what are you all attempting to do here in Greenest and why?" The wizard's tone stern and direct.
Out of Character: I will roll a deception check about questioning Linn, as he does not know we didn't.
Lia has little difficulty drawing Cratol down. His body exerts only about 10 pounds of upward pressure.
The mage glares at Onwen's jibes, but says nothing.
In response to Sar'ai's threats, he starts laughing. "Linn? You couldn't get that blustering coward to talk? Now I know you don't have the stomach for this. Do try to stay alive through this, I'll enjoy knowing your fate."
Out of Character: The ring was Miruvial's, but you also picked up Linn's arcane focus, which is fairly distinctive. I presumed you were toying with that instead. Is anyone investigating the rune circles, the floaty effect, or anything else in the building at this time?

Lia breathes a sigh of relief as Cratol reaches the floor. She continues to hold his hand. " Don't let go or you will float back up Cratol. Let's go look at what you did. " She will walk over to the disturbed rune circle and the emerald. Lia will examine them closely to see if there is any way to counter the floating effect.
Lia is unfortunately unable to glean much about the circle or the crystal. Said crystal is quite large, and a vibrant purple color. Its configuration reminds you more of a large chunk of quartz than anything else.
Out of Character: Not sure where you got an emerald from. Also, I updated the SRD with a running list of important characters and groups. Should have done that before.
