Perry notices the angry barbarian charging him and begins to panic a little. As Poljen swiftly closes the gap, he comes down hard on Perry with the first swing, but something gives Perry the strength to throw up his hand, as if by instinct. At this point, you see Perry's eyes turn solid black and a dark purple barrier forms around him.

The barrier blocks the first crushing blow! Poljen, surprised for a brief moment by this unexpected dark energy, puts even more into his second swing and manages to break through the dark barrier completely. Perry's eyes revert back to normal as he takes the second blow. "Aah," Perry yelps as the axe comes into contact with his fragile, yet fabulous, tiefling form. "Lia, HELP!" Perry pleads.

Out of Character: Perry uses Shield as a reaction from his Hexblade list to bump his AC for the round to 21. This should block the first hit. He will still need to make a DC 10 Con save for concentration on Hypnotic Pattern which I will roll for now. Perry suffers 16 points of damage.

LIa cries out as Perry is struck. The fear is evident in his voice and she very much understands that. "Sorry to do this Poljen." She calls out harshly to Sune and gestures at Poljen. The light from her amulet shines brightly and his form is seen to shimmer for a moment.

Out of Character: : LIa cast banishment on Poljen. He must pass a charisma save or be banished to another plane for one minute. Bless is no longer up to help him. DC save is 15.

Perry looks up and sees the barbarian shimmer before disappearing in a blinding flash of divine light right before his eyes. He turns to Lia with a surprised expression, throws up his arms, and yells triumphantly, “(Laugh) YES, PLAN B!”

He walks up to Lia, rubbing the back of his head with his right hand and smiling from ear to ear with a goofy grin, “I knew I picked the right partner,” Perry states happily as he gives her a wink.

“So what do you think we should do now? I’d estimate we have just under a minute of peace while the boys here sit and think about what they’ve done.”

He turns to the rest of the group and yells, “What do you all think? Did I pass or should we continue?”.

Poljen finds himself standing on a featureless plain of grass. He isn't alone. A few paces away stand a huge beaver. It's currently staring at him.

Out of Character: . Wow, Velon and Poljen both completely out of the fight for a minute, no saves to be had to rectify it. Velon knew you two would have a whole bag of tricks, but he didn't know what. I'm going to take some liberties with 'incapacitated', just for fun.

Velon's trot forward comes to a stop quickly as a flashy display of lights appears before him and his whole body relaxes. The onlookers see a very strange sight then indeed, even after the prismatic lights are gone. Velon looks stunned, his eyes wide, and his head turning all about as he looks left and right, up and down. His smile is as wide as they have ever seen, looking like a child mesmerized by their first sight of something truly awesome. He only shifts his feet ever so slightly, and slowly raises a palm, waving it at the empty space in front of him. His friends witness him point a finger and think they can see him mouthing something like "Boop.... Boop… boop" and slowly, softly jabbing his finger all about as if perhaps popping bubbles or bopping tiny invisible fey creatures on the head in a playful manner. Velon has acted a fool many a time while drunk with some of the onlookers, but this is a whole new sight to be seen, for sure.

Poljen scowls when everything around him changes. He is sure Lia has done something to cause this. Then he sees the monstrous beaver. He scowls, but then chuckles. Then laughs. He says, "Greetings! I am Poljen, son of Nels. Can you direct me back home?" He does not expect an answer, but neither would it surprise him.

Out of Character: : Rage drops.
