"I think a scouting trip is an excellent idea! I think I can even handle communications as well. I haven't had a reason to show you how loud I can play my horn before, but I've been told it could be heard from miles away. We just need to pick a few songs that you would recognize and attach meanings to them. And if something comes up unexpected we still have the sending stones.
My question is, is what is our cover story for coming to this backwoods town?"
Out of Character: with the homebrewed cantrip his horn should be roughly as loud as a train whistle.
I still need to pick spells for today I hope to get them picked around my lunch time.
"Ha, the cover story is easy my dear Niko! You and I are a traveling duo of performers who happen to be passing through and looking for information on a "Friend." Lawrance can be our manager! Wait, I feel like I've done this one before… "Penelope looks amused.
Lawrance agrees "I can certainly help with anyone who needs to fall safely to an extent. We can't be too high, however. As far as a cover story goes, Bards are always purveyors of entertainment and news, and I can pass as a orator if needed, albeit not an expert one. Manager works fine, as well." Using his magic, Lawrance transforms his clothes, various shades of bright colours spiraling around his robes, making a bit of a harlequin look and enhancing his presence.
"I could do more, if needed, but I'd rather save the more drastic magics for drastic events."
Poljen is obviously pleased his idea has been so readily accepted. "I suspect the dwarf may have already left town, for I am sure he'd rather confront us away from a town or city where he does not control everything. Niko, you, Lawrance and Perry ask for general rumors as usual. Have any other groups passed this way? What sorts of trouble have arisen in the area? Typical stuff. Go the some of the shops looking for supplies as well. If this is the last outpost for supplies before they head into the Serpent Hills, there is a good chance they bought more supplies, and food, in this town. How long ago did any group leave? Especially one led by a dwarf. But he might not have gone into town, if he is trying to keep a low profile. So any group must be investigated. Then when the Silver Blaze arrives, and starts asking similar questions, I will not be surprised if someone starts watching us closely. Even if we do not use our name, I tend to stand out. One of my size, with a monk, a cleric of Sune, and depending on their knowledge of our group, a paladin, a halfling and a dragonborn, we will be recognized by any looking for us."
Looking to Tazskan, the drow will reveal an expression of uncertainty before offering a smile to say, "Yes, I wouldn't mind. Though I worry how well the my skills will help in learning how to use and shoot the ballista." Zarra hoped that would not be too difficult to get the hang of it.

"Poljen, your initial idea is a very good one. Why should we enter the town at all, thought? Running with your idea, what if we just meeting our information gatherers outside the town towards the hills? Perhaps they will never know that the Blaze was here! Any enemy spies won't be able to inform this dwarf of our presence."
"Well, I'm ready whenever Niko and Lawrance are!" Penelope exclaims. "I think meeting us after an hour, or whenever we signal, outside of town towards the hills is a good idea. We will give you any valuable information we gather then, assuming we find anything out that we don't already know."
