Quirking an eyebrow at the blue mist and the spell's failure to take hold, Lawrance sifts through his knowledge for a similar effect. Responding to Velon, he says "I'm sorry, Velon, but I came prepared to do battle, not explore a dungeon."
Specific Action: Arcana on the ewer mist. Love potion #9?
Perry downs the mist. There's no taste, but he can feel it spreading out, entering his lungs as well as his stomach. It is a surprisingly comforting and soothing sensation.
Out of Character: For the next hour, Perry has advantage on saves vs poison and disease. He has also gained 5 temporary HP.
Velon just stairs blankly at the wizard that knows everything, except detect magic as a ritual, of course. He blinks a few times and then starts to turn, only to see Perry down a cup full of mysterious blue mist that had been sitting there. He just stands there dumbfounded, wondering what in blazes is going on with his comrades right now before finally muttering "Ah, Perry, how do you feel?"
After drinking the mystery mist, Perry pauses for several moments and stays completely still. His tail that was previously wagging goes limp. He seems to have a happy and content look on his face, much like someone who had just bundled up in a warm fuzzy blanket and sipped a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter day would have.
“It doesn’t taste like anything but I feel warm and tingly,” he says to Velon in a happy tone while wearing a goofy face of content.
Velon realizes he had instinctively been slowly raising his war hammer, half expecting Perry to turn into a larger demon again or something, but relaxes. He let's out a small sigh of relief and looks once more at Lawrance and then looks for Poppo. He gives up and casts Detect Magic on the room, thinking it is worthwhile in a powerful wizard's quarters.
Velon notes the presence of several magical auras in the room. The ewer and goblets carry a conjuration effect, some manner of abjuration is on the shelves. There's also something on the bookshelves with a strong divination aura.
The chest itself carries a mild abjuration enchantment, and something inside of it is magical as well, though classifying it is difficult.
Out of Character: P.S. Lawrance can cast Detect Magic as a ritual, whether or not it is prepared to cast normally. Its what makes wizards the second best ritual casters in the game (Beaten only by warlocks with just the right combination of things).

Putting down the book with a sigh, Lawrance says "Nothing new here. No indication of any powerful divination device or new spell that the mask-seekers could use. Why are they here?" Looking around, Still distracted from his in-depth studies of the tomes, he asks "Anyone find anything useful?"
Out of Character: I actually forgot Detect Magic was also a ritual! .
Tazskan, breathes a sigh of relief that the battle is over. He carefully inspects the cùltists bodies.
For, anything unusual, maps, Tiamat trinkets, apart from usual dagger, or sword.
Once, done will join the others in corridor.
Out of Character: will also lay hands on himself, for 12 HP. He doesn't have detect magic either.
