The group crosses the room and opens the northern door to a scene of bloody carnage. Bodies lie strewn about, pierced with arrows, bite marks, and other wounds. In addition to a large number of the by now familiar cultists, quite a few dead snakes are here, along with a burly looking man with the lower torso of a snake. There is another who almost looks human, save for yellow eyes and scaly patches along parts of his body.
Looking through the bodies, you do not find any dwarves. Across from the door is a very ornate, if currently bone dry, pool, surrounded by a raised dais. At the far end is a plinth, with a large number of ornate markings upon it, and a hemispherical depression. It looks like the pool is intended to be fed via a pipe in the stonework from somewhere.
There are two large copper embossed doors here, to the right and left, very similar to the one you saw near the entrance of this place.

Perry follows the others just into the library, takes one look at the dark, damp pit and says, "Nope." He immediately turns around.
Then, he follows Velon out of the library and across the throne room and into the pool room. Perry will help others investigate the crime scene and pool.
Out of Character: As usual, helping others explore this room. Roll with advantage!
After those more talented at spotting both magical and mundane traps have entered the room, Velon will make his way to the copper doors on his left. Wondering if something large had bashed in the initial large doors they saw earlier, he puts an ear to the door and listens for signs of life.
"If this was my home I wouldn't want servants spilling buckets of water on my floor. I'm guessing the sluce next to the well upstairs comes out there." Pointing at the pipe above the pool.
"Now let me take a look at these markings to see what they say." He then reaches out to touch the runes in an attempt to translate them.
Specific Action: using comprehend language from helmet.
Looking at the depression in the plinth, Lawrence judges if the sphere (Without pulling it out) he picked up would fit the spot. "This is probably the scrying pool, but if they are not here, their goal may be something else."
While he ponders he keeps looking around, invisible, ethereal and normal vision, making sure the room is truly empty.
Specific Action: perception for hidden stuff again here.
Nikolaos looks at the runes as the spell takes hold, but they remain inscrutable. It seems this is not something that can be translated by such means.
Lawrance estimates that the sphere he carries would be a perfect fit for the depression.
