Geoffroy watches as everything in prepared and true man is tied to the bed, before with a sigh the cleric heads over to the shrine for Lathander. Kneeling and bowing his head for a moment he offers a prayer for guidance and for light to illuminate where they must turn to best protect those here.
Onwen rubs his head where the lute impacted and looks up and then around at the items in the room. As the loot slowly decends Onwen grasps it and looks it over before opening his pack and doing his best to stuff the lute in and fasten down the flaps though perhaps part of the lute would be sticking out he tries to secure it well enough that it will not float away. He then produces his journal and begins to sketch the arcane symbols, copying them onto the parchment as best he can with notations regarding what he supposes are the meanings or purpose of the runes and the circle. Blood Magic… is one notation Perhaps meant to amplify effects is another notation near one of the runes that he is unable to decipher.
Onwen would probably become so engrossed in studying the runes and making notations in his journal that he wouldn't notice the passage of time until it started to become dark, if not interrupted before then, he would realize the time and go track down the rest of the party.
Out of Character: : Onwen is not attempting to copy this into his journal as he would a spell, he is just making observations at this point especially since the complex nature of the work makes it unlikely that he would be able to copy it precisely enough to actually gain access to the magic.

As more birds depart, leaving Poljen with fewer opportunities to complete his plan, he decides to simplify things. "If you wish to help save the people of this town, save this woman who feeds you so generously, you should go fly to the south, looking for the bad men. I will be able to guide you, if you listen to me as you fly. And what you see could help everyone, yourselves too!" He figures if the birds are open to listening to him as they fly, that should be enough for the ritual to take effect. He also resolves that if they survive this adventure, he will look into purchasing his own bird he can train for this very purpose.
Out of Character: : No offense taken.
A few of the pigeons start bobbing their heads excitedly and milling about. Poljen just has time to reach out and touch one of them, completing his second ritual, before they take flight. They start winging their way south.
Out of Character: What you've got by default won't allow you to guide the pigeons along the way, Speak with animals lets them understand you, not hear you from afar. In this case though, using the rituals together, I'll allow it. You've got one hour, enough for them to cover about 50 miles, use it wisely
Onwen got lightly bonked by a harp, not a lute. Its nearly as tall as he is, and twice as wide. Its not going into any ordinary pack.

Lia grins at Cratol then looks at the people assembling with bows. " Well, they do look like they could use some help. Do you want to demonstrate? Maybe you can give them some basic weapon training. Maybe you can show them how to float. I think I'll help them with a bow. " Lia laughs then walks over to the group to see if she can be of any help.
Poljen's eyes roll back in his head, so only the whites are showing as his consciousness merges with the pigeon he touched. It is a sensation he has experienced only once or twice before, and not something he has shared with the Silver Blaze. They have heard him speak of it, but none have witnessed it, save for the moment with the horse outside Greenest. As the images in his mind stop flitting back and forth between what his own eyes see (Darkness) and what the pigeon sees, he relaxes, trying not to think about the muscles the bird is controlling for flight, though in the back of his mind he has an urge to keep hunching his shoulders.
The bird, along with some of its fellow flock members, is already heading south. Fortunately Poljen's view from the tower earlier gave him a similar perspective so he is not too disoriented. Once he establishes a firm connection to the bird he scans the countryside, spotting where he last saw the patrol moving. By now that was more than half an hour ago, so as he nears the area, he 'nudges' the pigeon higher, and begins scanning, mostly towards the east, as that was the direction the group had been moving. He looks for movement, of course, but also for disturbed dirt, as one would see where multiple horses has just passed.
Out of Character: : Not sure if the bird gives any advantages or such, so just rolling once. Let me know if I need anything further please.
[24 hour rule applied, Ryanj, I'm presuming Cahleth accepted Onthar's request. He's now at the fort]
Lia finds that Cahleth and Tallis are running drills for the townsfolk, guiding them through the basics of how to stand, to aim, and draw properly. They have yet to issue any arrows. They welcome Lia's assistance, especially with so many on hand.
Sar'ai sees Nyzahr as she approaches the fort. The strange tiefling seems to be waiting for her.

As the birds wing their way south and reach the area where the mounted group was last seen, Poljen fails to pick up any sign of them and their passage. Had they kept going on their previous course though, they should be east of here. The barbarian recalls that the bandit camps they found before were about 20 miles away from town.
[the pigeons don't have advantage on perception checks, but give me another one for each unit of 10 miles they cover]
