"Sure! Let's go investigate the rest of this dank cave," Perry replies to Velon. "I'll keep my eyes peeled for anything interesting and/or kobolds."
Perry goes with Velon after gathering the other items.

Out of Character: : Since you are using Detect Magic and such, take Zarra and/or Mari along and clear all the traps out to the cavern entrance so we don't have to swim, please. Poljen would not be smart enough to make that request, but I am.
"Could someone assist me? I want to remove the egg from the body and preserve it. Perhaps Silas and their group may want to raise it better than the mother and father would have. There are various anatomy texts I recall that may help extricate the egg safely."
Lawrance watches whomever steps up to help, guiding with the stream of knowledge he has access to.
"I can't condemn a child for the sins of the mother and father. Perhaps this hybrid could be a force for good one day. "

Poljen sees Lawrance collect the egg from the corpse of their foe and shakes his head. "The last time the Silver Blaze saved an egg from a dragon and a human, well, the one who took it decided to leave the Blaze and headed into far, foreign lands, hoping to use the egg as leverage. This brings back bad memories, Lawrance. We already have enough of a target on our backs, so maybe this does not make us more of a target. But tread lightly. I do not like this."
Out of Character: : Since I assume it will take some time for the others to clear the tunnel of dangers, Poljen will swim out and meet Poppo and the castle.
"I wasn't aware of that history, Poljen, but my intent is not to keep this egg but see if Silas and his group would want to preserve this innocent. A child born of both a Green Drake and an Elf may not be as predestined to evil as it's mother was, and deserves a chance to grow as it would. While I wasn't worried of it's condition during our conflict with her, now that she is dealt with and the egg still lives, I would see it taken care of. If Silas and party will not have this one, then we will need to discuss it's fate."
The Detect magic spell shows traces of magic both on and in the armoire that had shocked Lawrance into unconsciousness, as well as a nearby chest. The latter contains some rather potent signatures.
Searching the rest of the complex uncovers a trio of kobolds in their barracks, huddled together and nearly catatonic with fear.
Clearing the main passage out takes time, but it is eventually done. The task is made easier by approaching from the wrong direction as far as the trapsetters were concerned.
In the meantime, Poljen makes to swim out, accompanied by a lean elven youth who had escaped the worst of the ordeal. Upon emerging from the water, the barbarian is confronted by castle Skyreach, with dozens of bows and three ballistae aimed in his direction.
Captain Callahan holds up a fist, but does not give the order to relax. Yelling, he calls down, "If you are who you appear to be, tell me what we last spoke of."
Upon seeing the kobolds, Perry mentally communicates to Velon, "It's alright, Velon. They're just scared. I'm going to try and convince them that we won't kill them."
Perry slowly approaches the kobolds in a non-threatening manner with his weapons sheathed and his hands up, "Sorry we scared you," Perry apologizes. He kneels down to get closer to their level, "Listen, I'll be honest here, we just killed your queen, but she really wasn't a good person you know? She probably treated you guys badly if you ever made a mistake, right? And if she ever thought you were useless then she would probably get rid of you too."
Perry points to the exit, "Look, my friends and I are going to be leaving soon and we won't hurt you if you won't hurt us. Also, you have to promise me that you won't do bad things and hurt people anymore and that you'll find respectable work for a non-evil master, okay? You don't have to be scared of her anymore. She's gone. If you are looking for work, we are accepting applications for protection of the castle, but you will have to go through a strict interview process. Don't go outside until we are ready to leave for your own safety. Just stay here for a moment, okay?"
Perry pauses for a moment before he leaves, "Also do you guys happen to know where she hid the good treasure? It seems to have been moved."
Out of Character: So I rolled for Persuade Kobolds on page 1068 for specifically this scenario and it was really good at a 28. I understand if you still want me to roll again and will do so here just in case. I just really care about these poor guys for some reason! (Laugh).

Poljen nods in appreciation at the sight, and at Captain Callahan's words. The barbarian's voice booms in reply. "I fear that I will not be able to buy you that ale I promised. I owed the last of my coin to Lawrance for guessing where the bitch was hiding. But once we divide up the loot from this cave, I will certainly have enough to buy a round. Though I confess I still do not understand how you threw my hand-axe with greater accuracy than I did! Are you perhaps trained in sorcery?"
Once the Captain gives the order to stand down he yells again. "The beast is slain, as is her consort. We will need hands on the ground to help move treasure from the cave, if we can find it. The others are currently clearing the tunnel, so you can avoid getting wet. Let Poppo know that some of the group are trying to harvest parts of the carcass. Lastly, I suspect there are elves from the local tribes nearby watching and listening. If they can hear my voice, I would appreciate the chance to speak with them. This young one can tell them the tale!"
