"BEHOLD!" A voice calls from beneath the dark shroud. "For it is I, WARLOCK UNKNOWN! If thou believe thyself to be brave, then ye shall step up and draw a card from my mystical deck! It is then that I, WARLOCK UNKNOWN, will give you your fortune! But are you capable of handling such an earth-shattering portent oh brave Paladin of Bahamut?! (Laugh), draw a card if you dare!"
Warlock Unknown presents five cards randomly chosen from the deck to Velon. Edited: seath on 28th Aug, 2018 - 8:06pm
Cratol replies to Velon. "If I ever claim to know women and their ways please lock me up for I wouldst think I lost my head." He smiles at that. "I think Sylmae likes me like Lia likes you. I know people at Redcliffe would love her especially if she is my wife. I know they have badgering me about a heir."
Velon's muscles tense as he hears the words spoken but he quick recognizes the voice. Dropping the head of his hammer to the floor he exclaims "By Bahamut's tale, Perry!" and exhales. He leans on the other end of the hammer and now sees Perry's sign sitting on the table. Velon relaxes a little, shakes his head, but chuckles a bit, too. "Ok, ok, you got me. I'll play along." He steps up to the table and inspects the cards. "Well, now I must prove that I am brave enough, right?" Velon puts a finger to the center most card but does not attempt to flip it over.
"Remember Perry, curse me and you will have Lia and Sune to answer to." He winks at their eccentric bard.

To Cratol's words about locking him up, Velon places his hand over his heart. "You have my word." More sincerely, he also replies regarding Sylmae. "That's great, Cratol. It's a pretty name, too!" He chuckles at the comparison to Lia, though. "Well, if she likes you the way Lia likes me, you are going to be losing a lot of sleep soon! Ha! Ah, don't tell anyone I said that. I prefer to be more, ah, modest about such things. I wouldn't rush the wife part for fear of scaring her off, but by all means if she volunteers to help with the heir part, or at least practice it, in the meantime… "Velon looks thoroughly amused by the whole thing but also sincerely happy from the young monk. "PERRY? I DO NOT KNOW THIS BEAUTIFUL PERSON. I AM WARLOCK UNKNOWN! I COULD BE ANYBODY, YOU DON'T KNOW!" the dark figure exclaims.
Once Velon chooses the center card, a wicked grin is seen upon Warlock Unknown's face, "(Laugh), an excellent choice, young paladin."
He flips the card over to reveal, "The seven of coins, the Thief! (Laugh), bad luck indeed, o' Paladin of Bahamut! This card foretells of a crossroads, somewhere between life and death, where you shall lose your most prized material possession! You will lose it among the buried dead, (Laugh)!"
The "Unknown" voice continues, "Now, go tell your friends of your coming prophecy and bring them here to reveal their own future calamities!" Edited: seath on 28th Aug, 2018 - 8:40pm
The castle lifts off and begins its journey to the east. The journey will soon take you over the Sea of Stars, the great body of water at the center of the continent.
Wary of adding any more magic to the turmoil that surrounds this extraction, Lawrance gives Lia leather gloves and indicates she should carefully pull out the first shard that seems to pose the most danger -the head wound. Breathing shallowly to not disturb the equilibrium, he whispers guidance for her gentle touch.

Gaelin twitches and rolls his eyes madly as the shard is being removed, crying out in apparent agony. When the metal finally leaves his skull, he collapses in his restraints.
Sylmae gasps with horror, but her brother simply proves to have lost consciousness.
"Quickly! Now's the time to finish the job and remove all the fragments!" Proceeding apace, Lawrance guides where he can to get these foreign objects removed. After the last visible one has been dealt with, Lawrance carefully checks with all his senses for any smaller fragments. Once complete he says "Okay, he seems clear. Time for Sune to do her portion."
