"A surprisingly good suggestion from you, Velon, but a welcome one. However, I'm afraid we must consider the risk of copyright infringement from the folks at Sorcerer's of the Coast for the similarity with Lairs & Lizards," Perry admits with a sigh.
Velon just raises an eyebrow as Perry suggests that any solid suggestion from him would be 'surprising', feigning offense. With regard to copyright infringement, he simply says "Well I know nothing of all that, so I'll leave you to it."
Velon also asks Cratol. "So I take it your friends will be staying? Assuming good health, how would they like to contribute around here?"
"I will ask them if they are willing to help around here in the castle to help in areas that may be lacking." Cratol heads to where Sylmae and Gaelin are being housed and ask them that if they wish to work in the castle for us. And what they believe their best way to contribute to the over all castle well-being.
Gaelin offers to help tend to the needs of the castle's personnel with his training to become an ordained cleric, saying, "Lia is very gifted of course, but she cannot be everywhere. Nor should she be, I suspect you will want her talents focused on aiding the main team."
Sylmae is a little less certain, "Well, I could keep doing what I was at the inn, cooking and cleaning mostly. But, ah… given the chance, I had hoped to try and find a means to continue my mother's legacy instead. The two wizards, Poppo and Lawrance, could they use an assistant? They might not be able to teach what I wish to learn, but I might be able to study on my own with the right setup. I write well, and learn swiftly, I'm sure I could be of help to them."
She smiles coyly, "Perhaps I can learn enough to try something with you. Dreams are such wondrous things, even more so with a few nudges."
Cratol will find Velon and tell him that Gaelin wants to continue his training and services as a cleric to his good in the castle to help out the workers and hirlings and to take some of the pressure off of Lia so she can continue to focus on the Silver er Braze. He will tell him that Sylmae is wanting to assist Poppo and even Lawrence as she has a talent in magic this helping them out if that is ok with him.
In response to Sylmae Cratol will say, "Yes you should continue to learn more of your gift and with the wizards help you may be a very gifted Dreamer and help others is ways most can not. I would very much enjoy what you can do I believe."
Upon hearing about her desire to learn the intricacies of magic, Lawrance is overjoyed "Of COURSE we can explore the wonders of magic with you! I already have two young apprentices that are here in the castle, learning the basics, and we can certainly test your abilities and see what talents you have to manipulate the Weave. There is SO much you can do with magic and plain ordinary hands can't possibly accomplish! Just wait until you find out."
------------
Upon seeing the forces arrayed against the tower, Lawrance suggest using the stones. "We could draw away the mages, at least, and eliminate a lot of the enemy ground forces as well. I expect they wouldn't stick around long once boulders start falling on their heads. "
Poljen says, "I can try to make a map of the maze through Trammet's eyes. Maybe Lawrance can do his trick of linking our minds together, so someone who is smarter can make a better map while I look through Tarmmet's eyes. And if we do attack from above, I would bet some of those mages will come out to attack us, or even do so from the maze. Perhaps we could have the Blaze hidden nearby so when the attack starts, and the troops are focused on the castle, we can move for the maze. There might even be more than one way into the maze… "
Out of Character: : He will also look at the camp for a command post or tent, looking for Cyanwrath or others who are treated as authority figures…
"Why are these creepy cult people sieging this wizard's tower in the first place? Ooooooooo, I bet there's something good inside! If only we had some way to talk to this gnome and let her know we're here to help and ask her what's going on.... Hm, anyone have an idea on how we could reach the gnome?" Perry asks to the others as he tries to think of ideas.
"I could also get one of the cultists to talk if we go down there, perhaps while disguised as one of them. I do still have the Holy Symbol of Tiamat. And they all wear the same stuff so it isn't hard to do the disguise. The captain and crew could stay up here and drop rocks when we tell them to. We obviously want to avoid the large army, but we also need to find an entry point that's easy to reach without being seen by the creepy cult guys."
"Also, that's a really sweet bird statue down there. You could probably feed all of Waterdeep with a bird like that. It's too bad birds that big don't exist though. That would just be scary," Perry laughs.
