Out of Character: Regarding that point of noticing the water being an illusion and not moving. Technically Perry would've noticed that first when he stuck his tail in the water. If it's illusory then he shouldn't've felt it get wet.
Also Lawrance dropped a coin into it the first time he saw it. He wouldn't have seen ripples and that would've been a dead giveaway.

Poljen finds himself falling down a shaft lined with a deep blue stone. When he hits the bottom, he finds himself in a largely spherical chamber with multiple holes in the walls. A passage leads out of it, but getting there might be a problem. More of those strange creatures appear to be nesting within the holes in the wall, several start to move towards the barbarian.
Cratol sees that Poljen landed almost 20 feet down, he can also see a series of deep steps and handholds cut into the wall to climb on. The creature that has been harassing the group, or at least one very like it, pokes out of a hole in the side of the shaft by the monk's head and tries to bite him, narrowly missing.
Out of Character: Poljen takes 12 falling damage.
When Cratol reports his findings, Lawrence says “well that’s an interestingly appropriate exit from this section. Shall we proceed downwards?” And then steps in, after whomever goes next, bracing for the impact. Upon arrival, he sees the castle manner attack, and tries using various types of energy to repel the creatures.
Sa-use the arcane shield to absorb any damage, but trying to land without taking any. If possible, He’s going to cycle quickly through different energy types of polychrome bolt to see if they are adverse to any - radiant, fire, necrotic, ice, electric, in that order. Not trying to hit any, so I’m hoping to see an effect in a single round to understand what works.
Poljen lands with a thud and quickly surveys the situation, and realizes he will most likely be in trouble. That bothers him only slightly. What bothers him much more is that he doesn't want all these things focused on anything but him as his companions begin to descend into the chamber. So he charges towards the exit, hollering as he goes. "Mind your step! And there's lots of these critters down here. I'll keep their attention while you all come down. Or drop a fireball amidst them!"
Out of Character: : Using Movement to lead the things to the exit, which should function as a chokepoint. I know they can spit acid, but if Poljen moves down a ways only a few at a time should be able to do so. As he moves, he will strike at creatures that are close enough, but keep moving. Not Raging yet… I will roll two attacks per round, for 2 rounds. And Initiative I guess. So even if he attacks a creature and it does not die, he will not stop. Full 40 feet should get him out, right?
After listening to Cratols, account of the situation, Tazskan speaks.
"That's interesting the fountain area, is a shaft going down," Tazskan says.
"I'm also going down but I won't need to climb down," he adds.
"I will levitate to the bottom," he adds.
"But, we first need Poljen to get to the exit, his found," he continues.
"But, then we need to deal with those creatures," he adds.
Tazskan, gets out his wand of magic missles handy, in one hand. Prepares, his ascendant step, to descend gently down the shaft, gesturing with other hand.
He waits, on the signal from the others to descend, and confirmation that Poljen, isn't in the firing line.
After hearing Cratol reveal what is really below, Mari races to the fountain. She lowers herself into feeling for footholds. Once she finds them she will quickly join Poljen below. She begins slashing at the strange creatures as well.
Lia steps astride her broom and flies into the shaft. She has her shield on her left arm. When she gets towards the bottom she calls upon Sune's fire to burn their enemies.
Specific Action: Posting two rounds of actions. Mari uses her bonus action to strike with her off hand. Lia casts sacred flame upon the serpents. Dexterity save DC is 16. Damage is 2D8. Rolled acrobatics for Mari descending shaft.
Morgaine, hearing from Cratol what is down in the fountain, follows after the others down into the chamber below after she places the scimitar in her Quiver. She does wonder if the chamber below will lead to the tower or was there another way to get there. Once below she will once again acquire the scimitar and slash at any creatures that may be there.
Out of Character: Doing Athletics and two Attack/Damage rolls for now. If more are needed let me know Daishain.
