If only Onwen would be patient. He could eventually find a cleric willing to resurrect her. Lia or Geoffroy would be able to eventually and she wouldn't be insane. Necromancers aren't known for their patience though. I really can't wait to see how this turns out *wink*.
Oh, right, a couple of notes to avoid confusion on Abnninja's part:
-None in the party are aware of Onwen's tragic tale at this time, nor of how deep his obsession with necromancy goes because of that loss. He's come across as a little sketchy from time to time, but nothing major.
-Fay would also probably have been introduced to Geoffroy's squire, or will be soon, but what others outside the party aren't normally aware of is that 'he' is actually Geoffroy's sister Elyria.
-The 'Silver Blaze' is the name of an official adventuring band. At present, its members include all currently active player characters except for Fay and Nyzahr, though I suspect either or both will be officially inducted at some point. Oh, Sar'ai is in the Blaze too, but it looks like she unfortunately will be listed as MIA shortly.
I feel like I'm missing a few things…
It's not so much about patience with Onwen; he's just bitter toward the gods so he refuses to rely on divine powers as a means to bring his love back. He is pretty patient though and will bide his time. His companions would not be his first choice in terms of sacrificing someone to cast the spell but he would not necessarily have any qualms about doings so if no other options were readily available. He is not completely devoid of a sense of loyalty or camaraderie, and in fact reacted fairly strongly against the sorceress that brought harm to his companions, it's just that he is quite willing to sacrifice anyone and anything to have his lover back.
But as Daishain said, no one in the party would be aware of Onwen's goal though they would probably understand that he has a certain moral flexibility. Throughout their adventures together he would not have shied away from the concept of the means justifies the end and would have probably treated their enemies with a certain amount of contempt, often seeing them as less than human (Or elf, dwarf, whatever); viewing/treating their corpses with a distinct lack of respect.
And also, the additions to the spell seem reasonable.

The kill boxes are to the east of the fort, they're about 600 and 700 feet away. Thanks to the height advantage afforded by the fort and the hill it is on they are in range for the longbows being used, but still far enough that you couldn't expect accurate fire, especially from these rookies. Fortunately that is not what you need from them.
Most of the enemy groups are at a similar range. The one bottling you up in the fort is the closest, only about 350 feet off. But they're very well hunkered down.
Two quick things. First, I am supposed to be away this weekend for a LARP, though that is now in jeopardy due to yet another outflow back-up at the house. But I still hope to go. I am taking a laptop but may not be too available.
Second, Cahleth, if you have attuned to your new rapier, don't forget its cool abilities if we get into melee.
Anyway, have a great weekend everybody!
