Okay, Poljen will stand back in deference to Lia, allowing her to be seen as our emissary. He intends to be within range of charging the creature, WISDOM save not withstanding. His bow is held loosely at his side. If he can not get close enough to charge and swing in one round, if (When) things go pear-shaped, he will shoot and move closer so the next round he can engage in melee. Is that enough detail at this time?
This type of situation is hard on a Dungeon Master. There are a few characters on the battlements that haven't posted actions or saves. In this type of situation it would be easy for one of them to be killed. You would have to post actions for them and anything could happen. Hurt feelings could arise from that but you can't hand wave them off the battlements. I hope it all works out well.
This situation is very nerve wracking. There are few times where your characters are staring at Death incarnate. This is one of those. .

Yes, and we chose an unorthodox approach to this situation. I was hoping to get their input and that hopefully they'd take care of the people in the courtyard. Now, it's only Poljen's action to keep the militia from firing.
