Honestly, it is killing Poljen to advise not attacking. He just thinks it is short-sighted. If they did not have a ton of prisoners, he'd be all over it.
But the other thing is I would normally have preferred to have him urging to attack, but have someone talk him out of it. But the person he would most likely listen to that way was Cahleth who is gone. And so I am also doing this since I think it is best for the group.
Out of Character: upside down world, I love it. As far as the prisoners go, I can't see them killing them if we attack… they are their mission. That would be like drilling for oil and then burning it. Oh wait, Saddam did just that. Pollen did what he thought was right even though he wanted to do something else. That takes a special kind of courage.
EDIT now I'm going to read about Fay's reaming.

I also doubt they'd kill all the prisoners, but I can easily see them dropping a few to make a point. They're most likely going to collect more later anyway. But do you want to tell their next of kin they died because you did something that was probably just a short-term move? I don't. If something happens when we're actually making our move to rescue, hey, them's the breaks. But I don't want to needlessly risk things yet.
This is the opposite of what he wanted to do before the army marched on Greenest. They did not know we were there, or that we knew where they were hiding the lizards. That would have been a good strike, since it would have removed a serious weapon they used to break the gate, and probably would have killed some of their troops in the process. Yeah, they'd still have hit the town and things would have gone about the same, though I think we'd have saved another score or two from captivity. But they had no idea we were coming, and I think they suspect we're following now. Also, they have leverage against us. Totally different circumstances. As I said, Poljen is willing to take risks, especially with his own safety. But they are calculated risks, and he hates risking others just for his own glorification.
A path has been chosen on what they will do and since I'm not playing Geoffroy as part of the scouting team, but the squire, she will differ decisions to others.

Daishain, I have changed a few of Lia's spells out overnight. Some of them have been just dead weight. I picked up blindness/deafness. I have a question regarding that. If I cause a mage to be blind could they still cast spells against us in that state?
Depends on the spell, for things like eldritch blast or scorching ray, if they can guess at approximate location they're just firing at disadvantage. If they can't, then the odds of hitting go to nil.
Other spells specify the target must be seen, and so are completely useless. AOE spells however, unless you get them completely turned around, won't be affected much.
I need a clarification. Is the enemy sticking to the eastern road, or have they moved off in another direction? Say, to the north? And if they have moved off the main road, are they on a smaller road, or fully off road?
