I have just been made aware that we are going to try and get the prisoners rescued, I will get Geoffroy involved with his squire and post once I do some back reading to check the details of such.
Also, I will be making those updates to Geoffroy today. So watch for that, though understandably I may wait to have such come into effect until after the battle currently going on and with the Dungeon Master's approval. That way it can be made sure everything checks out and he is good to go.

There is the consideration though of me giving him one Fighter level though, which I do believe would prevent him from actually having Fireball at this point in time. With that mentioned, perhaps I should simply stick with him being a Cleric? Even though I did want him to have the somewhat greater combat ability, and the knight background, which is why I am considering the update.

It depends upon what you want to do with him. Taking one level of fighter doesn't do much for him. You would need two levels to get action surge for an attack on your bonus action once a short rest. You really need 5 levels to get a second attack every turn if you want to concentrate more on the front lines. The pure fighter types have two attacks now and a lot of the enemy probably will soon. You will be at a disadvantage until you get two attacks. Still, it's however you see him. It fits his knightly background. I just think if you do it you need a plan for how many levels to take. Probably either two or five levels of fighter. If you plan on just taking this one level of fighter and be done I don't think it's worth it. Just my advice. Do whatever you want to do though Thomas.

Hmm, what you say is true Kyrroeth and I would be willing to take two Fighter levels but for now I wouldn't want any higher then that since the focus is still that Geoffroy is one who has taken the path as a Cleric of Light. There is one other detail I am considering, which could lead to a different prospect, but that will be up to the Dungeon Master to agree to.
Daishain, I would like to request a feat. It is from the a 3rd party resource called Deities and Domains: Specialty Priest of The Forgotten Realms from a Mark Craddock. The idea was to allow players to recreate the specialty priests of AD&D 2e, to a fair degree, in one or two feats for Dungeons & Dragons 5e.
