Daishain, here is my Initiative roll, in case Nyzahr gets to stop concentrating on her spell and goes on the offensive with her crossbow - which was an embarrassing miss anyways, but still… important to know WHEN she gets to miss her shot too, right… ? Right… ! *wink*.

Kind of waiting for the second round here, but Velon would use his movement and potential dash action if needed during the first round to keep up with Poljen and the others in this group, closing on the enemy.
So I can't quite decide where the best place is to play catch up with the conversations Velon initiated but I didn't have time to respond to. I'll post here so as not to break up the flow of the current encounter. I'm guessing this will wrap up those conversations as I was just doing a little 'getting to know you' stuff as Velon becomes more a part of the Blaze family, but if anyone has reason for interest in longer conversations we could maybe take that to the side plot forum or continue them during the next period of down time the party has.
TO GEOFFROY:
After hearing of Geoffroy's history, Velon remarks "It sounds like we owe Lady Elyria credit for helping to keep the Blaze together!" "We certainly do not need that youthful Geoffroy riling up the party further, but OUR Geoffroy is a good influence indeed!" He looks to Elyria with a grin. "Perhaps we should make you leader? Keep him in line, will you?" He winks at her and makes a poor attempt at a bow, not having the upbringing to properly participate in such formalities. He stands and smiles at Geoffroy, giving him one of Velon's now common clap on the shoulder.
TO LIA:
Velon first responds to Lia's story by acting shocked, "You have a son?! Why have we not spoken of this?" He smiles in a sincere manner though, not trying to offend, just being playful. He goes on in a more even tone to say that he too discovered his faith later than many, fairly recently in fact, and it has given him the purpose he had long sought. He would enjoy a longer conversation with her about this if she seemed interested [but that's up to Kyrroeth and this is long enough already]. One main details that he would share with her in confidence is that his mentor, a priest named Randall, was taken during an attack on their village not long ago. He believes it was this same group, and is frustrated and sad that he sees no reasonable way of pursuing the slaves all the way in Thay.
TO NAZYR:
Velon is disturbed by the images Nazyr has shared.
How could a mortal man who knows little of such things not be, after all. He does his best to hide it though and smiles. Using Message he tells her that he thought he'd speak to her in a manner closer to her chosen method, a sign of friendship and respect he hopes, like learning the spoken language of another. "As for how, curious one, I shall share with you my greatest secret. Not long ago I met a golden dragon, and he spoke to me in this way and passed on the ability to me, along with much of the power I wield today. I would be but a simple and reluctant soldier without his intervention and the connection with Bahamut he planted inside me like a seed. I feel it growing still. Perhaps we are both weapons created and wielded by a higher power?" He would tell her more if she'd like, but would also ask "What is it that you seek, curious one? What is your purpose here in this world?"
TO VELON:
Nyzahr answered Velon's inquiry about her goals with another flourish of images and sensations, basically translating as such:
- This One Wanders The Lands Of The Earth-Planars Like A Mischievous Child Enters The Spring Woods, Enthralled By Its Sweet Scents And Oblivious Of Its Dangers. Only The Higher Gods Know What Destiny Awaits Us All In This Plane As Well As All Others. If This One Is An Accident Of Fate, A Hidden Weapon Or A Simple Spectator, The Path Will Reveal Itself As It Will, Threading In And Out Of The Rope Tightened By Misfortune And Her Twin Brother, The Great Jester Of Luck. This One Accepts All While Remaining Devout To None.
She then gave the red-bearded warrior a soft, gentle smile and a small nod of the head, as a subtle indication that this particular conversation may as well be over.
No Abn, I've got everything for the surprise round, I've just been out of touch for a bit. Main post incoming soon as I finish compiling
Nyzahr only needs to use her action to focus on the image if she is moving the thing around. So if she just has it stop at the edge of camp and wave its weapon threateningly, she would be free to engage with her crossbow.

Got it, one last set of questions. What does the battlefield look like? How close is Fay to the next nearest enemy? Are there enemies around the next nearest enemy so he can target a group? Does it look like there is a spell caster around to target? Inquiring minds want to know!
