Can't argue too much with that. Velon might have similar instincts, although for different reasons, but respects Poljen more than enough not to argue the point. Velon will chip in the first 1,000 then, with 500 from Poljen and 300 from Lia? Perhaps they can recover the cost with the spoils of their venture. Velon's one condition would be that either he or Lia carries the scroll. He would trust her to make sure everyone was safely together before using it.
Cinder,
We posted at almost exactly the same time when you replied to Paul. I'm reposting this in case you missed it.
Out of Character: Yeah, Fay's persuasion is +10. Okay, he'll roll it with advantage and with luck. That gives him three rolls. Do you want to post discussing this with Fay in the main thread?
There has been enough posting on this topic on the main thread. I'd say post the rolls here and then do a quick wrap up post on the main thread to end this day and get us heading into the well.
My opinion at least.
[By The Way], thanks Dungeon Master for letting me know the trade went well *smile*.

I agree, but I just posted anyhow if Abninja wants to role play it. I had a few minor things to post anyhow to end Velon's meeting.
Sorry to press the issue, but when we have down time and many things everyone wants to address, it's quite hard to tie up all of the loose ends in this format.
Ready to move on after the roll!
Since I did not see Geoffroy having any personal shopping he still needed to get done and had already helped with getting the jewel turned into coin as well with the potions, I just thought I'd leave it to all of you to take care of that teleportation scroll and have him hang out at the tavern… hopefully that won't be too much of an issue.
Indeed, the mage haggles a fair bit, but eventually agrees to sell the scroll for 1,710 gp.
Reminder, the scroll acts as a Teleportation Circle spell Source 4e It takes one minute to cast, and then those using it must quickly proceed through the opening. (Note: you can ignore the material cost mentioned in the spell, that was paid at the time the scroll was made)
The exit will be at a permanent circle, which one depends on the sigil sequence used. The porter mage offers to place the sigil sequence for the circle here in Waterdeep on the scroll, but he can do the same for other destinations if you wish.
Only a mage with the spell in question on their spell list can activate a scroll. So bards, sorcerers, and wizards in this particular case.

I keep on thinking it would be fitting to have Geoffroy be a bit more active in perhaps competing with Velon for a certain wood elf's attention, perhaps even having him be a bit jealous of the interactions they have had, yet I haven't found much opportunity that wouldn't feel to intrusive or out of character.
That, and admittedly in part because of my activity, I have shown him being more of a quiet sort generally that wouldn't just "Insert" himself. Also, with him being more than a bit distracted with a fair few posts already pretty long. Still, I'll find a way though or at least I hope I can. It will be interesting to see if something of a love triangle might develop with both Geoffroy and Velon interested in pursuing Lia.
At the moment though, my character's feelings are not as obvious perhaps even to himself, with Geoffroy not understanding quite why it bothers him seeing Velon talking with the fair wood elf as he does. With him not realizing that it is because he is a bit jealous or for liking Lia himself that it bothers him.
