Ok, so is the lock like a padlock or is it built into the chest? Because the only other way I can think to open it aside from trying again later would be to break the lock off. Also, is the chest big to where it would take great effort to move, or small like a little lockbox that I can take for later use?

Its a traveler's chest, built to contain a person's clothing and other belongings. It is portable, but moving it isn't a casual matter.
The lock is built in, and won't be easy to break. Looking it over, the back of it seems to be the weak point. You could jam a crowbar in the joints and get one of the burly people walking about to work at it. It doesn't look like the hinges were made to deal with that kind of abuse.
Ok, apparently I failed to correct the misunderstanding. A casket could refer to a coffin, but it is also a name for a small box or chest made to hold jewelry, money and other such small valuables. The chest Targul found meets the latter description, and is no more than a foot long on any side. Unless we're speaking of a Gnomish baby, a Grig, or something else quite small, a body wouldn't fit within.
Note to self, look into having a vampiric gnome using a supposed treasure chest as his sleeping place….

That is amusing. Also, sorry for my lack of posts. Again, yesterday was busy and because of not having much sleep the night before I crashed not long after getting home.

Daishain, do you want me to post about returning with other clerics and conducting the ceremony etc? I didn't want to do that if there was something else that you planned on happening first. Not sure if you want me to advance that yet or not.
I don't have anything specifically planned to happen prior to that other than the ongoing camp investigation. There would be some prep work needed, not the least of which being the placement of sufficient fuel to reach incineration temperatures, so the funeral would likely happen later in the evening. Fortunately in that regard, in addition to there being plenty of wood about, the camp's supplies include a good quantity of flammable liquids, lamp oil, high proof alcohol, etc.
If you have an interesting idea on how to handle such matters, by all means feel free to describe the event in your own way. Either Lia or Geoffroy would be better suited to take the lead in that regard anyways. Most of the other clerics in the group are devotees of Torm. While certainly capable of both, they're more focused on fighting evil than consoling victims of the same.

After Geoffroy has taking a moment to observe altar and see if he happens to know that designs upon it or offer some information, I can have him participate in the ceremony.
As soon as I can I'll see about posting.
