For some reason it didn't roll the second attack, possibly because I forget to roll it, so I'm doing it here. Sadly the awesome roleplay was not met with an equally awesome roll; but hey. I can still always roll a 1 and have it go worse; so here I roll.
Now I know this probably won't come up anytime soon, at least not until the current scenario is past, but I found this to be an interesting idea when we are taking a long rests. Still let me know your guys' thought as I think it could be a fun way developing our characters and allowing the party to get to know each other better as they travel together.
I like the campfire idea, great stuff to enhance roleplay, though I'd expect it'd be called parsimoniously to avoid slowing down the campaign too much.
Kudos to Robert for remembering called shots and Thomas for mentioning inspiration points. I'd totally phased out the first and forgotten (Again!) the latter.
One question for the Dungeon Master: say Jack is doing a dual attack with rapier in one hand and dagger in the other, would he be able to call shots on both these attacks, or just one? Also, could he then spend his inspiration point on canceling the disadvantage on one of said-attacks, thereby earning the ability to do a called shot on a normal attack roll?
Just toying with possibilities here.
As far as having our characters awarded said-points, I'd reckon a lot of us have done some fine roleplaying sofar, so may I suggest a few of these points being attributed before the coming boss fight?
Looks like we might need all the Help From Higher Destiny we can get, very soon…! *wink*.
I don't think anyone has used inspiration since the chapter's start, (Some of you haven't used inspiration since the start of the game) which means you should all have yours available for use. I imagine those points are quite dusty by now
In regards to dual wield called shots, I think I'm going to call for a limit of 1 per round on such things. But otherwise yes, I'll let inspiration counteract the disadvantage.
In regards to campfire stories rule idea, I like the thinking, but I don't see a need to codify it. People are free to start telling stories if and when they wish. If we're in the middle of an arc, or the tale would otherwise slow the game down, just place it in the Side Stories thread. And yes, if you guys actually start using inspiration, I will give it back for a good campfire tale.

Thanks for clearing that up for us, Daishain.
Would it be power-gaming if I suggest to Robert to use Oswald's inspiration to let that awesome natural 20 do its job?
I bet it wouldn't be, since I'm sure he was just thinking what I'm thinking anyways…
*double-wink*.
EDIT: I just realized Oswald's first roll was a 10. Darn. Now that would have been nice, though….

Like minds Ash, just had the same idea, and conclusion. Though if Jack or some else burns their inspiration on Oswald as well… well, that would be a Dungeon Master call on if that turns it into advantage or not.

Sorry, no go on that one.
Aside from the rules stating that sources of advantage & disadvantage don't stack, Disadvantage to advantage is a massive shift, especially when the disadvantage is "Buying" you something.
