In answer to Croft's question, the optimal outcome is we kill these cultists AND the vampire, ending the immediate threat. Then if we can finish out a long rest, we will try to get the dragon. Ultimately we would like to completely control the castle. It would make a great asset in our fight against the cult.
If we find we can not defeat the forces occupying it, we will drop it from the sky, smashing it to bits. Denying it to them is Plan B. But if Plan A is successful, our side now has a flying castle, at least long enough to remove all the loot the bad guys have stolen, and whatever hoard the white dragon already possesses. If we or one of our allies can summon the right sort of air elemental to keep it flying, we keep it for good. If we can not get that sort of thing, we will destroy it by letting the soul of the giant Queen, Esclarotta, free and the castle drops. If we have to go that route, it would be awesome to drop it on a cult base somewhere… and now that we have a map, we should be able to find one. But right now, we need to win this fight. If we can't, we fall back into the control room, ready the teleport scroll (And get some folks to the gryphons), destroy the thing holding the queen, and BAMF out of there. Is that clear now?
Daishain, now that we are fully engaged, how are these cultists armed and armored? My specific actions might depend on the answer to this question. If they look like those elite guards we met when we assaulted the control room Poljen will attack one way, while if they are lightly armored he might attack another way. Thank you. Also, does anyone see the vampire yet?
A bolt through the eye would do the trick in killing someone, now I just have to wait and see where Zarra's second shot will hit. I wonder if it will be a one hit kill as well? Given it being a critical and with all the sneak attack dice I suspect so, but there is a chance.
That is admittedly one disadvantage of playing a more melee focused character, as while they can deal a fair bit of damage it is for the most part limited to a single target. While many spells can take a large group.
