Normally I wouldn't be that concerned. You don't run into zones of null magic that large very often. That crystal is huge. This isn't beginner level magic. A small radius explosion is bad enough. Small for this instance would probably kill our characters. I'm just getting attached to Lia. Not ready for her to be killed yet.
My apologizes for not being able to post after getting home from work, I kind of fell asleep on getting there wanting a few moments to rest on my bed. Still, it seems you moved things along so I did not greatly hold you back. I will create a post now.
If straightforward communication about the urgency of which Sar'ai is implying the guard take to report back (So she can then take the mage and regroup with the other and begin questioning), I will roll a persuasion check her.
Disregard if you feel it not necessary or too late.
Also, acquiring another spellbook is pretty awesome. However, was wondering how you were going to go about Sar'ai's (Or Onwen's) capabilities to use it. Per the PHB, it mentions wizards could have multiple spellbooks to backup their spells as to not loose access to their hard-earned knowledge, but if you come across spells of levels you can cast, you may spend 2 hours and 50gp per spell level to copy it into your own spellbook (This is to represent the time and components required to decipher the other mage's writings and the such). But what about just a whole spell book? Sar'ai would not necessarily want to just copy all the spells over as it would just be incredibly more be beneficial to keep the spellbook as a backup and when she's able to start casting those higher level spells, she'll already have them at her disposal.
I guess my basic question would be how much time and/or gp (If any is needed) would it take for Sar'ai to read this spellbook and learn the intricacies of how to cast those spells? Especially if she can use 'Comprehend Language' and presumably understand any odd bit writing here or there that the mage may have tried to use to make his work harder to translate?

Sorry for not responding earlier, I missed your edit about deciphering the spellbooks Brandonfett.
Good question.
My initial impulse is to say no. Every wizard has his or her own notation style that Comprehend Languages isn't likely to help with, translation is not a simple matter. More importantly, that time and currency cost is there for a reason I cannot lightly discard.
But in the interest of finding a compromise, how about this. Spend half of the usual time and GP expense (With the gold going into materials to experiment with) simply becoming familiar with the spells in question. When preparing from the other mage's book, spells take 5 minutes per spell level to prep, rather than 1. If and when you expend the remaining cost, you can copy the spells in your own notations and be done with the extra hassle. Sound fair?
P.S. We seem to have slowed down a bit. If anyone is waiting on me for something to continue, please let me know.

The only thing I am waiting for is our group of riders to arrive at the scene of the rocket launch and subsequent fight. And to know if as they ride they see anything like an advancing group of attackers heading for the town. You can assume Poljen is using his nifty spyglass!
