Paul, there is no 5E default item of haste, but there is a swiftness enchantment that allows for an extra attack to be made at a bonus action.
ChristianD, Wizards add 2 spells of a level they can cast to their books when leveling up.
D, I hope I am not becoming tiresome with this. Can this enchantment be granted to a wearable item, or must it be put into a weapon? And does the item require attunement?
Also, this storm giant stedding at Lake Woe… how long a journey would that be? We might not have time within the next 2 weeks, but Poljen would be game to go talk with them, if someone with a bit more Charisma came along… *cough* Velon *cough*.

The journey directly to lake Woe would take a few months if completed on foot/horseback. Probably the fastest alternative would be to spend 3 days on the road to Suzail, pay to use the teleport circle there to go to Citadel Adbar, then travel east from there, preferably with gryphon mounts so climbing that very tall mountain is not a factor.
As to the enchantment, yes it would need to be on a weapon, and yes it requires attunement.
(Laugh), subtle, Paul. Velon does need to go to Suzail. He is pondering taking Zarra's body, once the treasure is uncovered such that they can afford it of course, or so he hopes. He may also seek out wizards there to see if any can conjure an air elemental. Having at least one other along for the journey would be good.
Do you think it's worth the trip? The Queen didn't think it was likely that they would help, and clearly campaign wise WE are the ones that are supposed to save the world here, but who knows? The Dungeon Master has many things in his head that I cannot foresee!
Interested in Role-Playing some of Poljen's recent concerns in a private conversation with Velon, or prefer to let it go for now?
Lia is updated for level 8. She purchased mithril half-plate and a cloak of displacement. She sold her wand which helped her to afford the new gear.
We might need to coordinate about casting banishment. Half the group has it. I can just see an encounter where all the enemies are banished and we sit around waiting for them to reappear. It is easily one of the best 4th level spells.

Paul,
Have you considered mageslayer or sentinel? The former really helps against magic users (Which I expect we will see a lot of) and the later holds people where you want them. Both grant more opportunity attack situations. I feel like mageslayer is especially good considering you can stand up to a lot of physical abuse already.
Ignazio will be taking the warcaster feat and grabbing a cloak of displacement if possible. If not, I will consider a ring of spell storing.
