Thomaslee, the +5 comes from Lawrance History special Feat. Not just from the Help Action. If I roll to beat DC 15 in History, you get the bonus.

Daishain, is this like a small spyhole, that if we hug the wall and crawl we could conceivably sneak by? Or is its size and placement making that unlikely?

It is a small spyhole, but its placement makes slipping by rather unlikely, its to your right, just as the tunnel turns left, giving the viewer eyes on for pretty much the entire breadth of the space.
