I said I would step on the multicolored stone circle if Cratol didn't. But his initiative is higher than mine, so he would go before Tazskan.
Or Tazskan, would go second, if Cratol stepped on it first, then stepped off of it.
Daishain, can you tell me how badly Poljen's vision is obscured? Can he see if he rolls with Disad? Do his Eagle Eyes help in any way? Let me know please. And thank you.
I will roll Perception twice, so you can call it Disad if you like.
Sorry, its a Fog Cloud spell, so heavy obscurement, Poljen is effectively blind beyond a few feet around him. Eagle eyes don't help.
Of course, nothing is stopping him from moving to exit the cloud, though that does take him away from the circle he'd been manning.
Edit: Okay, so Anron has inadvertently brought up one of the more glaring problems with the Warlock class. Several of their invocations basically just add a spell to use up their already highly limited spell slots, and limit that spell to once per day just to rub salt into the wound. Minions of Chaos is one such example.
I am considering a house rule, and I wanted you guys' input on how balanced it is.
For all warlock invocations which center around a spell that can only be used once per day AND use up a spell slot as well: The spell can be cast once per day without using a spell slot, but at the lowest level available for the spell.

So what should the elementals challenge rating be then? If not based upon a spell slot?
I think, it would be reasonable for a Warlock, not being able to cast the "Minions of chaos" again until after having a suitable rest period.
Because, the warlock still has to maintain concentration, for it to be active. Means, it is still limited. I think the invocations, are essential for the Warlocks offensive capability.
So, I believe it shouldn't cost the warlock a valuable spell slot, to use. That wouldn't be fair, considering what the other magic practitioner's can wield.
Perhaps, it may be fairer, to put the limitation on the summoned elemental? Minor elemental? A CR rating of 2 instead of 5?
It's one reason warlocks are limited compared to other casters. I've played a warlock also. Unless the party takes a lot of short rests the warlock will end up spamming Eldritch blast. It's almost like that cantrip was made the most powerful damage cantrip to be a crutch for the class. Most guides recommend not taking invocations that use up spell slots for this very reason.
I tend to dislike house rules that modify core class features and abilities most of the time. As Kyr mentioned however, I have noticed that this campaign in general (At least since I've joined) seems to favor long rest classes over short rest by a pretty substantial margin. Warlocks need at least 3 or 4 short rests per adventuring day to start catching up to long rest classes in effectiveness.
When folks can blow all their spell slots on one or two encounters then immediately long rest, it makes characters like Velon, Poljen, Lia, Lawrance, and to some extent Perry* comparatively more powerful than Warlocks and Monks.
So I guess the answer to this depends on the outlook of the rest of the campaign. If it's going to be weighted in favor of the long resters, then I think it's a fair house rule to help Taz out. If not and we plan on more lengthy adventuring days soon, then I wouldn't mess with it. In the end, the rule fixes a symptom of a larger "Problem." I put the word problem in quotes because it's more of a game style thing than an actual problem. Most Dungeon Masters will favor long rest days with one or two major battles per adventuring day. Some Dungeon Masters enjoy ruthlessly grinding their players down over multiple medium-hard encounters. Ideally there's a balance between the two, with some days being longer than others.
* - I put a star near Perry because bards gain all their bardic inspiration dice back on short rests and he can heal the party a bit more during them with Song of Rest. He's also got some warlock action going on for an extra Pact Magic slot and Hexblade's Curse. Wizards have Arcane Recovery once a day as well, but I still consider them primarily a long rest class.
