Kresnik speaks up, bitterness apparent in his voice, "There are some additional factors to consider. This event occurred outside of lands that we can currently claim as a part of Kamelarn, with an individual who is not a citizen, nor has accepted our laws. I don't believe we have ever discussed how or if the law applies in such cases."
"Also, the entity that identified itself as Davik did make two threats against us. Which at the time was interpreted by these two as presenting a significant threat to our well being and that of others."
"I am inclined to think that whether or not the law applies to this individual, our friends should have remembered they represent this nation and its ideals. I am likewise inclined to believe that Davik's threats against us were hollow, as otherwise he would have used such abilities against the Stag Lord and taken his revenge."
"But I also believe intent and understanding are important in regards to justice. Their intent was to protect and defend, even if it was by violent means, and we know from the words exchanged that their understanding of the law differs from ours."

On the second night during your exploration, Theaton is plagued by nightmares so vivid they painfully wrack his mind. The animated corpse of Davik grabs Theaton by the head and plunges him under the water. As he tortures you he repeats, "Just the Stag Lord's body. It's all I ask. You do this to yourself! Save yourself and the strong girl, just agree to my demands!" Shooting up from sleep, you have a throbbing headache (Theaton 5 damage) and can't get to sleep, so are fatigued.
Of course, nobody else is a witness to this and it's very difficult to tell if he's affected or injured.
Out of Character: To independently verify the story I'll take Heal checks or, if you don't believe Theaton's claims, Sense Motive.
Theaton gets up and paces outside the area with White Fang in company. He goes and sits by a tree away from the others for a while trying to get the headache to go away. He is not happy and he figured that this is what Davik would do. He hopes the others do not experience what he is experiencing.
Out of Character: Are we close to the river?
Out of Character: On the second night, you're a couple miles from the river, but will explore along the river the next day before returning the Freehold. I got ahead of myself in the post where I described your exploration.

"Hmm… It sounds like you are suffering from a guilty conscience, perhaps? Regardless, Davik was an unknown entity that didn't attempt to harm anyone until after several attacks. I promise you, regardless of what the cause is, I will do all I can to alleviate these feelings of yours. It might take some time for my summons to find the body though. Please ask Yarrow and the others for assistance. I know Yarrow knows these waters well."
