Israel asked Donald Trump for help in pressuring the United States to veto a UN Security Council resolution condemning settlements, an Israeli official says.

Having a President-elect weigh in to influence US policy is highly unusual, analysts said.

But the Israeli official told CNN that his country approached the Trump team after it felt that it had failed to persuade the Obama administration to veto the planned vote. The official said that Israel "Implored the White House not to go ahead and told them that if they did, we would have no choice but to reach out to President-elect Trump."

Egypt delayed a potential showdown vote at the Security Council on the resolution after pressure from the Israelis, a Western official said, putting off a potential standoff between the United States and Israel. Ref. CNN

Donald Trump just delivered a powerful speech at a memorial service remembering those who were victims of the Holocaust. He presented himself very well. He should have done this earlier right after the election - he would be in a better standing with his rivals if he was clear about his views between white supremacy and the Jews.

I think he's been mostly clear it's the press that has been misrepresenting some of what he says, writes, tweets. No, not all the time and sometimes his tweets either aren't clear or are easy to misinterpret. But, the fact that the leader of Israel was pulling for President Trump in the lection should be a clear indication of where he stands. Also, he has been crystal clear on his support of Israel. I don't think he ever wavered or wrote something that could be misinterpreted regarding Israel.

As far the crazy white supremacists go, they latched on to President Trump. He does not support them. I think him bringing an openly gay man onto the stage and giving him a prime time spot to speak during his Convention should be a pretty good indicator of his feelings regarding minorities. The problem is, the press won't give him an inch and never reported how courageous that was to do at the Republican Convention. Rather, they found something negative.
