Comments: What about statistics on white collar crime there in none just a broad view on serious crimes nothing specific. Not enough emphasis being placed on it thus it is as though it doesn't exist.

Title: White collar crime

Comments: White collar crime here is headed by corruption at a very high level by politicians, civil servants and those of status. I can't help having my suspicions that the police and the judiciary are the protectors of such criminals on this island. This suspicion is arrive at, by the fact that although almost all the citizens caught and charged for committing such crimes are from this group of citizens, none are behind bars. We even got one or two well known for dabbling in corruption presenting themselves as candidates in the forthcoming election. Funny how they are allowed to act as honest men of this nation without much ado where politics are concerned. It gives a clear picture that corruption has now become an acceptable CRIMINAL activity provided it is committed by the elite.

The law has to protect the innocent and that is what they play with. They know even if the evidence is large there will always be some loophole to make an escape. Is only the poor criminal who sees the bars.

Title: Protection of the corrupt here

Comments: The politicians, the police the private lawyers, and the judiciary are doing a marvelous job at protecting a local mastermind of corruption now known worldwide and by so doing have tarnished the reputation of this nation, its justice system and its people.

This sort of protection offered to alleged high-ranking crooks on this island is merely encouraging more criminals from surrounding countries, and even as far as Africa, to rush here in droves, as they visualise Trinidad as a haven for criminals of all types. Something those in the corridors power and in positions of authority will continue to deny. The question is.Why are they doing it?.The answer personal greed. Nothing else.
