Hi. I've been playing Dungeons & Dragons since I got a copy of the Moldvay basic set for Xmas. I still love the game, though I skipped a bunch of editions. When second edition came out, I was too poor, when 3rd came, I was too adult, when 4th came, I found a great group who played pathfinder, so that's what I played. I play 5th now, too, and it's my favorite so far. I also played (And still play) a bunch of other Role-playing Games, and I've outgrown being too adult to play.
It's always been a storytelling game to me, the dice have always been sort of secondary, and the real truth is that it doesn't matter what system you use. If you're playing with the right group, any game will be fun. Well, maybe not that, but almost any game.

Hey there. Are you still with us in the 5E game? I realize you're new to this method of play, but we do need you to participate.
If you have a problem, let me know, we can work through it. And if you've decided that the game just isn't for you, that is fine as well, but I would prefer that you let me know rather than just disappearing.
