Jar Jar Binks From Star Wars

Is there a more worthless character than Jar Jar Binks in any of the Star Wars flicks that can be more irritating and unproductive as he was?

Lucas tried to be funny but it didn't work out and that first episode was probably a flop because of it.

Honestly I feel there was far too great of a hatedom for Jar Jar. More, that I never saw him as nearly as annoying as others did and I do feel he had his purpose and thus not useless.

He's not incredibly horrible objectively speaking. But he is bad, he feels very much out of place, and enough went wrong with episode 1 that he became a symbol of its shortcomings.

So no, I can't claim to be surprised that people formed something of a vendetta against the gungan.
