BEATING THE 'SEINFELD' CURSE
It became known as "the 'Seinfeld' curse" when Jason Alexander, Michael Richards and Julia Louis-Dreyfus -- stars of the hugely successful NBC series -- moved on to new sitcoms that failed.

I think this is because of their success on Seinfeld that they have failed. Seinfeld was one of the funniest shows on television, and now the same is expected from them when they do something else. The same thing happened to 'Joey', a spin off of 'Friends' that has done horribly. Its something watchers do frequently but unfairly, judge new shows based on the former shows of the stars.
Sad, but true. Seinfeld was a great show, with a premise of being about "nothing." How can you top that? Unfortunately, those actors - who were great - are so identifiable as who they were on Seinfeld, I think people have a hard time identifying with them as any other character.
Seinfeld stars reunite after 11 years
Pathetic. Desperate. Lame. The Seinfeld reunion its creators swore would never happen for the aforementioned reasons finally takes place next month. Ref. Newshttps://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv/2867494/Seinfeld-stars-reunite-after-11-years
