With so much information out there on the interent it is easy to find one research paper supporting your theory and another one disproving it. You have people putting stuff on the internet that makes no sense at times but you have people following them and supporting them. Wikipedia has been proven that you can change things on it and it takes a bit for the information to be corrected or even taken down if totally false. If a person sounds like they know what they are talking about the more people believe them. I can see how students are finding it hard to find correct information when they do searches. Never mind all the sex ads you get typing innocent searches at times.

It is very difficult to sort through what is credible online. I can see children having problems with this. Many adults post or share things on social media that I know are false right away. Some people take anything online as gospel. I love people using Wikipedia as a source *wink* I can go on there and alter any entry as can anyone else.
