An interesting movie. The start could have been a bit quicker. The attention to religious detail with Catholic practices could have been shown less. There was an unusual amount of emphasis on Catholic beliefs. Liam Neeson did a great job.
Silence shows the contrast of two cultures and religions and why you cannot force one side to accept the other side simply because it is your belief. The realization that the people may be more interested in following the man than the concept of one god was interesting.
I liked the movie after the priest's capture, it got interesting. The first part was unnecessarily long. Has anyone who has studied Japanese history able to verify how true to life this movie is in relation to Christianity being preached in Japan?
