I enjoyed watching the documentary 'Upsize Me' and I am interested to know if I will be equally as 'thrilled' with this one - 'Downsize Me'. (Note: 'Upsize Me' is covered in another thread). Here is some coverage from businessweek.com:
I have read about this movie allot. She supposedly loses like 20 pounds in a month eating just fast food. I think both of the movies are hokey. Supersize me plays on the idea of eating only the greasy fast foods for breakfast lunch and dinner. You can buy yogurts and salads that are actually quite good at fast good places like Wendys and Mcdonalds. But the new movie downsize me plays on the idea that you only buy the healthy stuff at fast food places. You have to completely ignore double cheese burgers and fries for the most part and eat only chicken, fish, and salads. If someone did have the money to eat out three times a day, they would end up with a mixed bag because they would get tired of the same old thing. Neither of these movies account for a realistic view on eating fast food. Both are entertaining and show you the good and bad extremes of fast food, but neither are something you would realistically do.
People Try to Lose Weight at McDonald's
AP - Inspired by the documentary "Super Size Me," Merab Morgan decided to give a fast-food-only diet a try. The construction worker and mother of two ate only at McDonald's for 90 days - and dropped 37 pounds in the process.

Why people are so good at spotting product downsizing and so bad at judging supersizing
Consumers drastically underestimate portion supersizing but are incredibly accurate at spotting downsizing, making it difficult for food marketers to cut giant portions. But there is a way to make customers more receptive to smaller portions, say authors of a new report. Ref. Source 5m.
