Another State About to Fall to the Onrushing Darkness Engulfing America [CT]

Connecticut will fall to the onrushing darkness of firearms prohibition, and the rest of America will too, in time. The prohibition package up for a vote in the Connecticut State Senate April 3 is a doozie: serialization and registration of commonly-available magazines, bans on magazines exceeding a paltry 10-round capacity, and prohibition by name and model of over 100 different guns. Worst of all, full registration of all firearms transfers will be required in CT; this is the Orwellian-named "Universal background checks." If you want to know more about this mess, there's better reporting than mine. There are firearms owners...

The Connecticut Senate voted Wednesday for far-reaching gun-control legislation that would be the toughest in the United States. It passed on a 26-10 vote and now heads to the House, which is to begin deliberations. Final approval is expected Wednesday night. The bill strengthens an existing ban on semiautomatic assault rifles, limits the capacity of ammo magazines, and requires background checks for all weapon sales, including at gun shows. Ref. USAToday
The bill, which was passed by both the Connecticut House and Senate, was drawn up by a bipartisan task force spurred by the Newtown shooting spree in December that left 20 schoolchildren and six adult staff members dead.
Gov. Malloy has said he will sign the legislation, which makes Connecticut the first state to establish a registry for people convicted of crimes involving dangerous weapons. It also requires background checks for all gun sales, restricts semiautomatic assault rifles and limits the capacity of ammunition magazines. Ref. USAToday
They got bipartisan support because of all that has gone on. Background checks, as helpful as they are will not stop black market sales, that's the sad thing about it.

Once again another state has jumped off the deep in and passed a gun law that makes it harder dor the responsible gun owner to own a firearm. I wish many of the sheeple would wake up and see the gun issues in this country is not being caused by responsible gun owner at all so why are we punishing them? We need to enforce the laws that are not being enforced and go after the criminals and illegal aliens in this country that are causing over 85% of the violent crimes. If we can get the guns away from the criminals then it would be a lot better.
Realistically none of those will happen hence politicians get lots of support to simply make getting guns the legal way harder. Their laws has no effect on ease of getting illegal guns. Also, unless all states have the same law one merely has to cross states to get what they want through someone if needs be and then return to their home state.

Yes this is true as long as there is a black market out there for anyone to get a gun in little to no time then we as a society will never have the gun control the government so wants. You have all these politicians on their soap boxes yelling about this and that and they are going to stop it then they go back to their homes where they have the same guns they are trying to get from the public.
